Positive experience: I was seen by dentist that was absolutely brilliant. Did a good review and was very informative. Unfortunately though, my experience with front of house was not so great. Young receptionist very blunt and couldn’t manage a smile or decent greeting. Dentist informed me that my treatment plan was sent to this young lady and she could tell me cost once private health subtracted with coding. Upon leaving, same cold rude interaction and informed me to go contact my Private Health provider and do it myself. Upon that, I paid my bill and left without making future booking to commence treatment. I’ll happily take my business elsewhere. Sad due to dentist being very polite and respectful.

He works hard to made things better, not just for the present. He is a great doctor with both skill and kindness. Only one thing I have a concern, he is a popular doctor, so it is not easy to make an appointment. I highly recommend Dr. David.

Fantastic experience: I’m currently on holidays here in Cairns, and unfortunately had an issue with one of my veneers falling out, leaving me with extreme sensitivity and difficulty eating and drinking. I googled nearby dentists and was lucky enough to find this clinic! From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed by the lovely receptionist and felt completely at ease. I was fortunate to be treated by Sophie, who was absolutely fantastic! She was professional, gentle, and genuinely caring; especially knowing how nervous I was about seeing a new dentist. I am so grateful they were able to fit me into their schedule, and I truly appreciate Sophie’s dedication and expertise. She went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and well looked after. I honestly can’t thank her enough! Highly recommend this clinic to anyone needing dental care in Cairns, you’ll be in safe hands!

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Dr. Kim. he was such a calm and nice person. usually in other dentist practice I felt rushed and it always felt like they wanted to finish quickly but David really took his time with me even though I had so many questions. and I explained to him my situation and my worries and he gave me perfect solutions for all my problems. He was calm and very friendly person!! and Luckily I didn't need any treatment but I can assume that he would do any type of surgery or treatment painlessly! 10/10 recomend him!! I wish I dont have to come back to the practice but if I do I would see Dr. Kim again for sure! Thank you everyone!

Tamara at reception was very helpful, honest and efficient organising my appointment, answering my many questions. Dr Sofie and Dental Nurse Tilly were extremely professional. Fantastic experience: I haven’t sat in a dentists chair for a while, no surprises here! But I had to venture back in and there’s a bunch of new faces. I met Dr David and he put me at ease immediately. All the old faces have moved on but no matter, to work here they all have to be good and this was the case with David. His knowledge was immense and he explained options that I understood.

Fantastic experience: You find a good Dentistry you stick to them. Over 32+yrs I've been going to this practice. Before being recommended by a friend my teeth/gums were near rotting in my mouth. Bouts of sickness due to my teeth, along with my own method of releasing abscesses (wouldn't recommend it) followed by self extractions over 20+yrs led me there. The only 2 previous dentist/s visits I'd had over that time, well, the 2nd affirmed the 1st, some people shouldn't be dentists, those 2 (different dentists) were godawful painful, rough as guts & you just want to come up swinging while they're messing around in your mouth while you're laying there vulnerable, they can put one off dentists for life. Used to be petrified at the thought of going to a dentist until I found SmithfieldDental, something about the owner/dentist there, picks good staff, no matter the changes, being dentist, dental assistant or reception, they're world class. They're not a "stamp", "pay", "next please", "chingching$", "move along" clinic, they take the time to look after their patients. Last visit was today, the 5th different dentist I've had there (majority of decades was 1 & inbetween others), all outstanding, I don't take a 5hrs return trip to Cairns when there's dentists 40mins away for fun, I go there because I found a good clinic that I know master's the dentistry & since finding them I go very regularly. If like me you have a love/hate relationship when it comes to dentists, give them a try, I know others that wouldn't go anywhere else either. Long rave review, but they're worth the visit, they'll look after your dental/gum issues & I believe, like me, you'll walk away wondering why you were so worried about going to the tooth doc.

Fantastic experience: I needed emergency treatment due to a losing half a front tooth. I was thinking I’d have to cancel work for the rest of the week as I couldn’t get an appointment with my usual dentist. It would have been terrible to have to leave the house in the state I was in. Thankfully, I was able to see a dentist at this practice within an hour or so of me calling. Everything about this surgery is excellent. The dentist was lovely, her nurse was great, the admin staff was quick and efficient. The dental work I received is excellent and reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this surgery to anyone seeking a new dentist or needing simple emergency treatment.

Fantastic experience: Travelling around Oz and managed to get an appointment with Dr David for an emergency extraction. All staff very pleasant and easy to deal with. Dr David took his time to fully explain his diagnosis and treatment. Although I was in a lot of pain due to infection, he was as gentle as possible in the circumstances and ensured I was comfortable before continuing each part of the process. I would highly recommend this practice. 5 stars!

Fantastic experience: Dr Sophie performed my 2 hour treatment. My experience was excellent with her calm, gentle and confident approach. My usual dentist anxiety was minimal because I felt I was in good hands. All the staff including the dental nurse Holly and the receptionist were friendly and competent.

Having 30+ months of orthodontics as a kid left me unreasonably terrified of dentists, so it wasn't until I had much of my molar in my fingers some thirteen years later that I reluctantly went to see one. Dr. David Kim has crowned that tooth, filled as required and cleaned all others, and provided a nightguard. The work Dr. David and the hygiene team have done has been of great quality and I feel a confidence about my teeth long-term that I didn't before. The chairside manner of Dr. David is superb, the information provided is well-considered and feels genuine, and the equipment he and the team are using is modern and fast. Reception have always been very helpful and welcoming for me. I don't worry about attending now, eight appointments later. Just brilliant.
