Fantastic experience: Free service with the best GPs I have seen in Australia. While the wait to me can be annoying, you have an app on your phone for where you are in the que and can always do a few things in Dee Why while you wait. There is a separate nurse area where you can pop in and do weight and height whenever for your child and get your flu shots etc.
Negative experience: Absolute shambles. First time visiting, and I was seen quickly which was the only positive. My appointment for a chest infection lasted less than a minute. In fact, so fast I didn’t even catch the doctor’s name. It felt rushed, and the tests he pushed came across more like a billables grab than genuine care. I also forgot to ask for a medical certificate, and now they’re insisting I book another appointment and come back in person just to get one. Even the receptionist admitted “the place runs on a lot of hopes.” Says it all really. Something feels very off here. Best to steer clear.

Negative experience: Wait times of 2 hours+, when all I need to do is see a nurse but have to wait to see a GP first, a waste of everyone’s time. Also tried to phone the practise and was on hold for almost 2 hours, they don’t pick up!
Fantastic experience: Attended today for the first time and while waiting the short time to see a Dr was observing the receptionist who I found out later to be Jess. I was so impressed by her welcome and the kindness and care she showed elderly patients helping them With the downloading of the app taking care to navigate bookings for them and dealing with a most disgruntled elderly gentleman with consideration kindness and poise. What an absolutely gem she is and a credit to the practice.
Negative experience: Our Medical dont seem to care about the public residents that live in Oaks Avenue. For nearly 2 years their non monitored Alarm has been going off at 10:30pm and all through the night to the early hours of the morning. Various complaints from residents are made about this and have always been ignored. You really need to take action and contact your building manager to have this stupid cheap tacky alarm dismantled. There is no way I would go to your medical Centre after this incident (s), I would rather pay out of pocket at Dee Why Family Medical to see a Doctor than hand over my Medicare card at your practice.
Negative experience: Its good to provide late night service, but what's the point of 3-4 hours wait! Many empty rooms and too many patients! Their APP also note providing the estimated waiting time. It needs to be fixed.
Negative experience: Horrific - been here since 7.05am and it’s 9.20am and still not seen. 2 doctors on and there is about 30 patients waiting. Great new new practice but unfortunately not enough doctors…
Negative experience: Would not recommend, 1-2hr wait times because doctors prefer not to wake up before 10am? I would also recommend taking two different antihistamines before entering the waiting room as the combination of the primary school carpet and the bone dry air con will have you hacking up a lung. Some doctors will speak to you genuinely and provide a clear course of action, whereas others clearly spent their studying years getting drunk on uni nights at the local drinking establishments and can’t stay off google for the good part of a minute. Dr Azhar Shabbir was very professional and knowledgeable, if you’re going to wait in line for over an hour at least see that bloke.

Fantastic experience: Amazing service and care start to finish. When i arrived i was feeling really unwell and the female receptionist helped me straight a way. The RN was really lovely and DR Tina was knowledgeable and kind.
Negative experience: Doesn't answer the phone during business hours. So frustrating when they keep texting me to make an appointment about results I've never requested.
Negative experience: The old receptionist in the radiology section is the rudest receptionist I've ever came across. Makes patients wait for hours before entering their details into the system and then blames the patient. I asked to speak to someone else and was told someone would come to speak to me but alas no one ever did. Spent over 2hours waiting just to find out how long I need to wait for an 8:30am appointment even though it was already 9am. I hadn't been seen because she didnt enter my details into the system . Totally disrespectful and needs to be taught how to interact with humans.

Negative experience: I went to visit on a Friday morning. They literally have no GP/ Doctors in the morning time. I realised that after 30 mins of wait and started to check the doctor’s roaster. Most of doctors start at 11:45am. The worst is that they didn’t tell people , or at least let them know we are running low with doctors and there will be a longer waiting time than usual. There is nothing and everyone waits, until at 11:40am doctors come and the queue starts to move. With already an hour’s wait, I am no. 5th on the queue. Not worth the time at all with 1.5 hours wait for a 5 minute GP even at bulk billing.

As I have at least a thirty minute drive and arrive at the centre and the doctor is not available it becomes very frustrating when I cannot contact the centre prior to leaving home.

The best GP I have seen in my 50+ years & have had over 20 broken bones & 200+ stitches so I've had contact with many Drs. Negative experience: The doctors here seem to know absolutely nothing about helping a patient. You wait forever and then they are with you for about 1 minute offering no solution, treatment or management plan for whatever is wrong with you. I guess it’s free but I’d rather pay for actual help.

Negative experience: My previous messages were all full of praise, but you are still not satisfied. Let me talk about something that happened in the past few days that made me very tired. I had an ultrasound in your radiology department. At that time, I told the two front desk receptionists that my examination report was sent to the doctor who issued the examination order and Dee Why, your clinic, the doctor I often go to for treatment. But your radiology department only sent the examination report to the doctor who issued the order. So the doctor in your clinic did not get the report, and it happened to be the weekend. As a result, in order to get a referral from your doctor, I had to print the report myself and went to see the doctor three times before I got the referral. The final result was: there was no public surgeon in that local large hospital. Patients can only ask the doctor to write a letter directly to a private surgeon.
Fantastic experience: All facilities under one roof. Doctors, nurse's, treatment rooms, pathology, x-ray and ultrasound you name it, it’s there with no fuss or long waiting times. No need to book an appointment with a doc. Just download an app, walk through the door and book in using the app. You can choose any or a specific doctor as you wish and doctors rotas are also in the app and finally if you need to see a doctor but can’t get time off work Our Medical are open up to 10pm 7 days a week.
Negative experience: I really wish they’d answer phone during the hours they say in message left on while we’re waiting for hours if we can. I had trouble with App & I had go in person to get help from receptionist so I could book an appointment with Dr Vecky for next day.
Fantastic experience: ‘Our Medical Dee Why’ is an exceptional Medical Centre. I cannot speak highly enough about our experience with this team. From our welcome with Annie May (who’s just wonderful) and the caring and considerate diligence of Dr Wu, through to the absolutely outstanding care of our nurse, Millie.. it was all absolutely first class treatment. I highly recommend this medical centre and its many different services, all conveniently located under one roof (and with abundant free parking at the council lot that is almost across the street). FIVE STARS well deserved!
Negative experience: I've been waiting an hour and a half (they don't do appointments). An hour ago people who walked in were told there were 15 people ahead of them. I just asked how many people are still ahead of me and she said 15. I asked how that was possible... she just fobbed me off. Either their app booking system doesn't work or the receptionist is choosing who to send through instead. The receptionist loudly divulges personal details for the whole room to hear, then goes over and moans loudly to another staff member about how she's not doing Saturdays anymore, they're awful. Not professional at all. Also, 20 Drs rooms here and always only 3 Drs on. Last time I came the Dr (Tabba) I had an appointment with (when they used to do appointments) didn't even walk in the building till an hour after our appointment time! This place is a joke.

Fantastic experience: On a Sunday morning between 8am and 8:45 I had seen a doctor, had full bloods taken and was waiting to have my script filled at Chemist Warehouse … pretty darn good - no appointment. In 2 days I will know exactly what is going on in my body. Just have the app downloaded before you go!
Negative experience: Went in just after 8pm for a wound/bite that I was wanting it looked it +/- get a tetanus shot (it did not warrant a trip to ED). Receptionist automatically shut me down and was like 'we're closed' and basically was like 'too bad.' Just went to the supermarket to get the Medigel Wound Care gel to tie me over til the next day so I could go to a different medical centre to get it checked out.
Fantastic experience: I have to give this practice credit for hiring such an amazing young receptionist who is outstanding on every level. Her beautiful welcoming and professionalism is an absolute asset to this centre . I've only attended once so far but my overall experience was very good . Let's hope it stays this way . Get the app downloaded before you go . It's easy to navigate and the in line system telling you where you are in line and the room number you need to sit outside of for the doctor to call you is a great feature .
Negative experience: Waited 2 hours for the flu vaccine despite only 5 people waiting when I arrived. Staff don’t talk to you and you’ll just sit and wait for hours for a 5 minute consultation

Negative experience: The bar is incredibly low, and yet somehow, Our Medical Dee Why manages to limbo under it. Dr Charles Hayes' incompetence with regards to women's health is truly astounding. After three hours of waiting, I had a fifteen second consultation, in which I was not diagnosed, but just prescribed. The word "cramps" was said and all else was unheard. I was also shockingly and explicitly assured that "100% of women that experience dysmenorrhea have nothing wrong with them, no conditions or disorders, and are just among some that experience more severe periods". The e-script I was then provided was a corrupt link, and when I phoned to inquire about this while at the pharmacy, the reception repeatedly hung up as it was "beyond phone hours" despite the physical reception being open. When I went all the way back, the receptionist had left the desk for more than half an hour, and I had to knock inside the staffroom to request service. Outrageously dysfunctional medical practice, both the centre and the staff within it. Dangerously reckless GP consultations.
Negative experience: My son just tried to transfer his medical record from this practice to the one he is using on the other side of the city, they told him it would cost $71.50? What for? Can you please explain? We will contact the ACCC to see if they can look into this for us. Any response before we do so would be appreciated!

Negative experience: It’s pretty dangerous when a medical centre cannot be contacted by phone/email. Spent over 4 hours on hold trying to get through today for something urgent and eventually gave up. At one point a receptionist actually picked up, said they couldn’t hear me and immediately hung up. It’s a shame because there are some good doctors here but it’s terrible not to be able to contact the centre.

Fantastic experience: I was surprised at how seamless our visit was. I took my mama there with extreme vertigo and they were attentive and caring from beginning to end. Got her in straight away to the nurses station with no wait time, got her some medication and checked all her vitals etc. The nurse was soooo lovely and the doctor was excellent and caring. Negative experience: How is it possible that after a two-hour wait, the consultation boils down to seeing a doctor who reeks of cigarette smoke? Honestly, by the end, I wasn’t sure who needed medical attention — me or the doctor, who looked like he was about to have a heart attack right there. The service was awful from start to finish, an absolute disgrace. Now I understand why it’s “fully bulk billed.” The quality of the doctors is shockingly poor. I won’t be going back and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. P.S. The nurses who administer the vaccines are good — that’s the only positive thing I can say about this place.

Negative experience: They need more female GPs and also to show the accurate time of doctor rosters. Doctors keep calling in to say they’re not coming in on the day or run 1hour+ later than roster advertises. Can’t book ahead only walk in but when you come in they aren’t in as roster shows. Waste of time

Negative experience: The medical center in Dee Why regarding an incident that occurred on Sunday, February 16, 2025. I visited the center at 11:10 AM, and I encountered a staff member named Chris at the reception. Unfortunately, he spoke to me in a very rude manner and displayed an angry expression while talking to me. However, when the doctor came out, Chris became polite. I believe it is essential for your staff to receive training on how to communicate respectfully with patients. It is disheartening to see someone in the medical field behaving this way. Please do take action and check CCTV footage. Teach him how to speak with patients.

Fantastic experience: I'm new here at Dee Why, yet Dr.Movahedian S. in no time , has caught up with my health issues; has provided Health Plans and follows up on each exam, blood test, and other lab results. He is caring, empathetic and doing that extra mile to keep me safe and well. Thank you Dr. M.S. This is an update Thanks to Dr. Movahedian I have had the opportunity to receive 5 sessions of physio for my severe headaches. Ms. YAN CHEN has successfully treated me for my stiff muscles and sore neck. Third session today 4 feb 25 and I am doing much better. I wish to thank Ms Chen for her dedication, professionalism and good nature. Can't wait for my 4th session with you

Negative experience: They do not answer calls even during clinic hours. The doctor there, rather than collecting enough information from the patient, focuses more on entering data into the computer. He spends 2 minutes inquiring about the patient and the remaining 14-15 minutes just printing and inputting information into the system. Their medical app is useless.

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. I came in for a routine annual women’s check-up, only to be told by the male doctor that I should come back when a female doctor was available because he was uncomfortable performing the procedure. I was fine with a male doctor doing the exam, as I expect healthcare professionals to provide the care their patients need, regardless of gender. Despite this, I was still charged over $90 for the visit, even though I waited over an hour and left without receiving the necessary healthcare. This feels like a complete rip-off. If you are uncomfortable dealing with female anatomy, you should not be practicing medicine in a modern healthcare setting or disclose this prior to charging your patient. I will never return to this clinic and strongly advise others to avoid it. Terrible experience!
Negative experience: I have mixed feelings about this centre. The receptionist was helpful with showing me how to get the required app. Told I was 2nd in line. I waited and waited. Finally my name was called, but by the time I had got to my feet and headed to the gps door, another patient was ushered in instead!! I don't have mobility issues and noone (nor the app) told me to wait outside a particular door number. (I was sitting away from sick clients but within view). I am not sure if there was overkill on testing. A had a ct scan where results and report was done within a couple of hours. Fine because I was still at work. Fast forward to today and I need to know my urine results. They are back supposedly and were supposed to be sent on to my local gp. They haven't been. Meanwhile I am over an hour's drive away and not expected back in Dee Why until 4 more days for work. SO, I have tried calling several times. No-one & I mean NO-ONE answers the phone there. (This has happened before - expect to be on hold for over an hour until you give up trying). So, i have no results, don't know if antibiotics script should be filled and won't know till I physically walk in there next week - which is too late! You cannot contact them!!
Fantastic experience: My partner Susan Riddington, went for an ultrasound the other day and she was met by a lady on the Radiology Reception by the name of Edina. Edina was very helpful towards her and went way above and beyond to helping her get her Ultrasound done on time by 2pm, as there was a mix up with her referral and Edina made sure she could quickly get Susan to see a Dr to get her referral fixed in time for the 2pm prearranged appointment. Not many Receptionists we have dealt with would help out so much with a smile and make the experience less stressful. Susan also witnessed a rude customer towards Edina while waiting which was unnecessary considering how professional Edina was to all. Thank you so much for your Lovely service Edina you are one in a million
Fantastic experience: I never have to wait that long. Dr Tabba is very considerate, looked after me with great care, very professional.
Negative experience: I gathered my courage to go to a Dr, there is a ridiculous app requirement and an alleged "rewards" program that is compulsory. Then the Dr I saw says he will not help me on my first visit!! Multiple visits clearly just to get more money. Nevermind about helping me. Avoid this place!
