Fantastic experience: Dr. Charles from Boon Dentistry is an exceptionally intelligent and composed dentist. At the age of 66, I have been a patient of Dr. Charles for over two years. His intelligence is evident in his ability to explain complex procedures in detail, ensuring that I am fully informed and comfortable throughout the process. Previously, I had negative and horrible experiences with other dentists, which made me apprehensive about dental visits. However, Dr. Charles has consistently made these visits enjoyable and stress-free. He has provided me with the courage and confidence to overcome my fears and embrace dental procedures, such as fillings, cosmetic fillings, cleanings, and even a major surgery on my complicated wisdom tooth. I am deeply grateful for Dr. Charles’s exceptional care and expertise. His ability to make complex procedures accessible and reassuring has significantly improved my overall dental experience. In a large part this is due to Dr Joanna Tan, she is an extremely skilled practitioner but has a very friendly manner as well The service from the front desk is terrific too. Can’t recommend Dr Tan and this practice highly enough.

Negative experience: I had my 1st root canal treatment on 24 Aug and paid $70 appointment fee for the 2nd treatment, which is scheduled at 3pm on 18 Sept. Due to an urgent and unforeseeable meeting notice from my company in the morning of the 2nd appointment day, I have to reschedule it so called them several times but no answer. Finally I got speak tot the reception but was told I must pay another $70 for a new appointment. I told them my family and my parents are all their patients. I couldn’t expect there is an urgent meeting call in the morning. And I will have another 3 appointments with agreed cost of $3400 to complete the root canal treatment and crown. However, the receptionist insists it’s their policy so I must pay another $70 booking fee. If you want to book with them, make sure you will not be unwell or have urgencies on the day, otherwise they will keep your $70. Not compassionate and not wise there. They didn’t send reminder messages.

Fantastic experience: I was able to quickly sign up as a new patient and get an appointment for a check up. I was seen by Joanne Tan who was very good and thorough. Very happy with the service provided.

Negative experience: Unfair Treatment and Deposit Issue I recently had an unfortunate experience with boon dental that compelled me to write this review. I had scheduled an appointment and even paid a deposit in good faith. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I woke up terribly sick on the day of my appointment, making it impossible for me to attend. I have always been responsible and promptly informed the dental office whenever I couldn't make an appointment. In this instance, I politely requested them to consider not taking my deposit due to my sudden illness. However, to my disappointment, they still went ahead and charged me. I believe it is essential for businesses to show compassion and understanding towards their clients, especially in situations like mine. By taking my deposit despite my valid reason, it feels like they prioritize money over customer care. I understand that policies exist to protect both parties, but I expected a more empathetic approach from a dental practice that I had trusted. This incident has left me feeling undervalued and disheartened as a customer. I hope that by sharing my experience, other potential patients can evaluate their options and be aware of the policies and practices at boon dental. Customer service and understanding should always be at the forefront of any reputable dental practice, and unfortunately, I did not experience that here.

Fantastic experience: The Reception staff is courteous and competent. Dr. Tan is knowledgeable, competent, and kind. She explained all the procedures I asked for, did a very good check and cleaning, and told me what to do to prevent future issues. Besides, she planned the next procedure and explained all the steps involved. I greatly appreciated what she did and surely will recommend Dr. Tan and the Boon Dental staff.

Fantastic experience: I started writing this review in my head while I was getting my teeth cleaned… I went to see Ryan and he was so informative and helpful and did an awesome and thorough job from start to finish. Couldn’t have recommended a better experience. I have to also extend this to Dana at the front who was just so wonderful and lovely to chat to which made it so nice to visit the clinic. I say this having gone to many dentists over the years and this is the place where I can confidently say there’s a high level of care, genuineness and transparency where I’m not left guessing about anything.

Fantastic experience: Today I had a general dental check-up and clinical perio analysis & recording with Dr. Ryan Leung at Boon Dental. I was very impressed with Ryan’s excellent service. Ryan explained my dental issues in a thorough and easy-to-understand way with patience, and provided me with a plan of attack. When doing the clinical perio analysis, Ryan was very gentle and quick. As a result, the discomfort during this session was easily manageable. Today’s experience reduced my fear for visiting a dental clinic. I am now happy to resume my 6-monthly dental check-up routine, which I stopped 5 years ago due to a very painful service elsewhere. I would definitely recommend Boon Dental and Dr. Ryan Leung. The front desk reception and Ryan’s assistant also offered very good and professional services.

Negative experience: I made the appointment for my daughter she’s 2 years old, and explained that just normal checking during the call, but when I arrived doctor told me that dental checking is too early for a 2 years old kid, as they won’t cooperate , so we waste our time at all. I mean I am not professional that I don’t know when my kid need a dental check, but can’t you call me to cancel my appointment rather than ask me to come and did nothing?

Fantastic experience: Dr Hwang has restored my confidence in going to the dentist. He is kind and gentle, always explaining the procedures and checking how I am. He is also an excellent dentist, dealing proficiently with my many dental issues.

Fantastic experience: Called in last minute today to book a tooth extraction. Luckily they were able to squeeze me in. Receptionist desk were very welcoming with great customer service. Dr Sirichai, Peranada did my tooth extraction. She thoroughly went through the process and calmed my nerves down. She managed to pull it out quickly. I felt nothing at all. Highly recommend this dentist clinic 100 % they are better than the dentist at Pulse cause their mouth tube has cameras and affordable.

Fantastic experience: My experience with boon dental was excellent with Dr Charles Xu.

Negative experience: I came to this place for a clean and checkup. The receptionist told me it’s $205. The doctor ask me if I wanted to scan during the clean-up process and I agreed, I wasn’t told it’s going to cost $45 for each scan. I ended up paying $301 in total. Please let the customer know about the cost before doing any scans, that’s not professional, charging people without telling them about the cost is unprofessional.

I have had a few visits and have always been impressed but today I rang needing an emergency appointment due to tooth pain and they accommodated me within hours as well as Dr Charles making time in his schedule for my follow up appointment. He treated me with care and compassion which is always needed when in pain. The service of the practice is always so professional, kind and courteous. Sometimes the dentist can be scary but I highly recommended Dr Charles and the team.

Negative experience: In summary very suspicious about my experience with this dentist. I went here after breaking one of my tooth filling. They took about 2-3 minutes to make the sharp edges little bit smooth. Then did a x ray and provided me a list of treatments. Clearly said my filling is badly damaged and i needed root filling and then crown on it. Estimated minimum 3500$ for it. Then they further added saying cost can go further higher. Most importantly told me that is a must do thing due to the condition of my tooth and no other option. Then start pushing me to make a booking to start my root filling treatments. I paid about 130$ for less than 10 minutes work. In that 10 minutes also most of the time spent to explain 3500$ treatment and how bad my tooth is. The way they pushing too much was suspicious. So I didn't make the booking. After returning home I decided to take second opinion on it. Went to a dentist in North Rocks. He spent about 5-10, minutes to check all teeth. Then after taking a X-ray told me that my tooth is not that bad and 80% not required a root filling. Then I agreed for that and he did the filling. Now over 6 months later my tooth is completely fine. Most importantly he charge the same amount what Boon dentist charged and not a single $ spent for tenement other than that. So 3500$+ treatment recommended by Boon Dental as only option vs 130$ treatment fixed it properly. This added lots of question about the ability and honesty in Boon Dental. Specially they repeatedly confirmed as that's the only possible solution, saying cost can be much more higher and pushing me to make a booking vs North Rocks dentists saying it's not bad and 80% chance of success with normal filling and it works.

Fantastic experience: I had my impacted tooth removed by Dr. Charles, and it was amazing! I had been anxious prior to the surgery but the whole team patiently gave me time and explained the procedures, risks, and benefits. Overall, I just had 2 days of mild swelling post surgery. The healing and recovery was quick, and the suture removal (after 7days) only took 1-2mins! I highly recommend the patient care and approach of all the dentists and rest of their team. :)

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr Saerom Park, I have seen her a few times this month and she has been very caring, gentle, informative, and courteous. I had to get a cavity filled last week and I must have fallen asleep because I started dreaming for a moment, a testament to her gentleness. Receptionist Dana is also lovely, she is very kind and considerate. I have had some issues with pain and sensitivity after my filling, so have called up a few times and she has been very helpful and patient with me. I was walking in the neighbourhood this evening when she spotted me and took the time to call out to me and follow up with me, which shows that she genuinely cares about patients. To top it off, as I was walking back home I heard my name called out a few times. As I turned around I saw Dr Saerom Park walking over to me with her lovely smile. She also took the time to check up on me and this is just above and beyond what I would expect from Boon Dental. I also saw Dr Joanna Tan yesterday for the first time just to check out my painful tooth. She was also very helpful and informative. Side note; the clinic is very clean and COVID-19 safe. You are required to sanitise your hands and have a temperature check as soon as you enter. A log of all visitors' names and phone numbers, and whether you have been to a hot spot is also kept.

I received 2 reminders for my appointments and and the whole process was very fast and efficient.

Negative experience: I was in for an emergency consultation and as the doctor was laying out the treatment plan I was crying and trying to wrap my head around how I was going to pay for the treatment I desperately needed to become pain-free. The assistants were rushing around the room making noise and it seemed that they were completely unaware of the conversation we were having and to my state in general. When I rang to follow up, the receptionist had a nervous giggle that felt cold and disconnected to how I was speaking. Overall, I'm glad I didn't have my treatment done here.

Fantastic experience: Dana at reception is wonderful! I had booked online for an emergency appointment the night before and had a date and time in 2 days time. She called me in the morning and said she would get me an appointment that afternoon, not wanting me to remain in pain for anymore time than necessary, remembering that I could only attend from 5pm onwards. Dr Hwang was efficient, helpful and the whole experience was all round great. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: It was my daughters first dental visit and my first visit at boon dental after being referred by a family member. The practice was very friendly, Dr Tan was very thorough with her examination and made my daughter feel very relaxed and at ease involving her in the process of checking what her teeth look like via the camera on the display tv. I have booked my other 2 kids in for their check up next week after the overall positive experience.

Positive experience: Had my first dental appointment at this clinic today. Appreciative of the receptionist who managed to get me a last min appointment today when mine was original scheduled for this sat. Dentist was attentive and he did the first stage of my root canal and I didn’t feel any discomfort. The troubling part of my experience started when I was paying for my bill for treatment today. I was told to make a 100 dollar deposit for my subsequent treatment which was a huge surprise for me. I didn’t say anything as I was new to this. Subsequently I was asked by the clinic to write a feedback for them via email. In this email I took the effort to inform them that I was troubled by the need for a 100dollar deposit when I had already made the commitment for my next treatment. Moreover since there would be a penalty for non attendance or for not changing appointment working a scheduled period, the deposit didn’t seem to make sense. Seem to imply distrust. They took the effort to reply me about my subsequent treatment plan and consisting but did not make an effort to address my comment on the deposit of 100 dollars. Very disheartened to be disregarded in this manner. 4 stars for dental care and the receptionist . 3 stars for aftercare

Fantastic experience: I’ve always thought dental appointments must just be inherently unpleasant and painful - an opinion I know is widely held - but this dental practice has changed my mind. I had my teeth cleaned and two fillings replaced with Dr Hwang, and they have been the ‘least worst’ trips to the dentist I’ve ever had. :) He is calm, gentle, professional and explains everything clearly, and used a numbing gel as well as local for fillings (so I felt no pain). Reception staff are truly lovely, as are the dental assistants, and rooms are bright and always super clean. I absolutely recommend coming here, and thank you for making trips to the dentist no stress!
