Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this dentist. Note, I HATE the dentist with a visceral passion, so it takes a huge amount of effort to force myself to go along. But Dr Nick and crew at Ascot Vale Smiles make it such an easy going and pleasant experience it makes it so much easier to just hop to it and make an appointment. No guilt, no lectures, no BS just supportive friendly professionals. Can't recommend highly enough.

Negative experience: I visited Ascot Vale Dental and spent over $4,000 on treatments for myself and my husband. I have naturally good teeth—no braces, caps, or false teeth—so my treatments were more about maintenance and necessary extractions. “Doctor” Nick pushed to have multiple treatments done at once, including two wisdom tooth extractions. I trusted his advice, but I ended up going home with a pounding headache. On top of that, he was openly rude to his assistant, which was unprofessional and made the experience uncomfortable. The other dentist at the clinic was just as unhelpful. I work for HICAPS and have a strong understanding of healthcare, Medicare, and consumer law. From my experience, this clinic seems more focused on money than patient care. If you’re desperate for cash, get a job where you’re actually qualified to make money instead of trying to rip people off—because it won’t get you far. To make matters worse, it appears that Dr. Nick has hired family members to leave positive reviews, which is misleading to potential patients. If you value professionalism, respect, and ethical dental care, I’d strongly recommend going elsewhere. Receipts.

I have been an existing patient who happened to have an emergency root canal episode recently. I called in and my concern was listened to very carefully. I wasn't rushed through. Dr accommodated his schedule to see me the same day and prescribe medicines. My sessions have been painless! Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have started seeing Dr Zainab for some difficult work on my teeth. What a lovely bunch of staff! Dr is very thorough and doesn't rush things, and stops for a short break if she notices I'm getting a little overwhelmed. Although she doesn't rush things, last appointment I thought we were only halfway through, but was surprised when she said everything had already been done! Her assistant is also caring and gentle, and I cannot fault the lovely girl at reception for her efficiency and friendliness. There's a bit of a wait between appointments, but apart from that, I highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I unreservedly recommend Dr Nick for any dental work. I have undergone a range of treatments from a simple check up & clean, to whitening, multiple fillings, bonding and Invisalign, and all have been completed to an excellent standard. After receiving several quotes for Invisalign, I stumbled upon Ascot Vale smiles and found their prices to be very reasonable; it was also clear from my first consultation that Dr Nick is extremely knowledgeable. He was confidently using technology that some of the other places I consulted with had told me they didn't have yet or were just learning how to use. I made my decision immediately after the first consult and felt totally at ease during all my subsequent appointments. Dr Nick was always realistic and honest with me about the results that could be achieved, never oversold or tried to get me to add extra treatments (in fact, I ended up with less bonding work than we'd initially planned), and exemplified professional standards in every way. Fantastic experience: Very happy with all my visits to Ascot Vale Smiles. I have always had an unreasonable fear of dentists. To the point that before a visit, I have needed a rather large scotch and coke before attending for even minor check-ups (rather unpleasant for early morning appointments). Thanks to Dr Nick and his staff, after 3-4 visits, including a root canal, I no longer need to do this. Dr Nick is very attentive to his patients pain and discomfort. And his friendly manner and conversation goes a long way to putting his patients at ease. Even before entering the surgery, his receptionist is always friendly and welcoming, taking your mind off what is to come (it is dentistry after all). In a strange way I look forward to my visits, something I never thought I would say. Dr Nick knows his trade well and is up on the latest techniques and advice. I highly recommend this surgery.
