From my very first phone call to book a consultation, the reception staff were welcoming and extremely helpful. Fantastic experience: If I could give more stars I would The service and follow up they gave me was exceptional I’m a Grey Nomad on a trip to the Cape . I developed an agonising toothache keeping me awake at night I called Jacaranda in the morning as I was passing through Gympie they booked me in that afternoon. What a pleasure it was to be able to look after you Allan. A toothache isn’t something you want to have to deal with for any longer than needed, particularly while you’re on the road. We pride ourselves on keeping appointments available each day for this very circumstance. When you need us you want to be able to be seen ASAP. Fantastic experience: I have a horrible fear of going to the dentist, so when a friend recommended Jacaranda Dental I thought I’d give them a try. When you walk into Jacaranda it’s like walking into a 5 star hotel reception, it doesn’t smell like a dentist and the staff are always so friendly and make you feel comfortable. I had a check up and clean with Cami and she was the best, so gentle and talked through everything with me. Positive experience: Dr Ana was kind enough to ask management to reduce price of first appointment if I didn't want xrays but unfortunately that was declined. Otherwise great staff, thorough and great communication. I appreciate dentists that are clear and attentive. I am amused by the coffee station at a dental clinic! Dr Ana is a really wonderful clinician who performs incredible dentistry Thank you also for your mention about x-rays. They form an important part of our initial dental examination because they provide critical diagnostic information that cannot be seen with the naked eye. For others who are wondering, we thought it was a nice opportunity to share what the main reasons are for why they form part of our assessment: 1. Detection of hidden dental issues a) Cavities between the teeth: X-rays can reveal decay that is not visible during an examination, especially in tight spaces in between the teeth b) Early-stage decay Some decay starts beneath the surface or under existing fillings, which x-rays help to detect early 2. Assessment of bone health a) Bone loss: X-rays show the bone levels around the teeth which is important in diagnosing periodontal (gum) b) Jawbone integrity: They help to detect bone infections, cysts and tumours which would otherwise go undetected 3. Evaluation of tooth development a) Impacted teeth: X-rays are crucial for spotting teeth that haven’t erupted properly, commonly wisdom teeth b) Tooth alignment: They help us assess the development and position of teeth 4. Planning for treatments, particularly with root canal, dental implants and wisdom tooth removal 5. Monitoring changes over time Baseline x-rays provide a reference for future comparisons to detect any changes or progression of dental issues. We made the decision when we established Jacaranda to invest in digital technology as well, as the radiation dose is so incredibly low when compared to the previous system that was used in a lot of clinics. If someone prefers to not have x-rays though, we wholeheartedly respect that decision. We’re simply less likely to be able to diagnose some issues or to prevent things from being bigger then what they may have been had we detected it early. I hope this has been helpful. Any other dental clinic and I wouldn't of bothered for months or even a year after surgery or for a check up but not with these guys. They have a wonderful, fun and loving environment around them. I was so anxious and worried but Dr Dalena, her amazing assistant and Dr Adam made my entire first visit so relaxing and welcoming. They listened to my concerns, explained my options and came up with a treatment plan for me all with the most friendly and professional manner I have ever had at a dentist. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left the staff were all so welcoming and supportive. Negative experience: Before starting our trip around Australia, I went to Jacaranda for a full check up to avoid any bad surprise during our trip. Jacaranda recommended a crown as a precaution on a tooth that was not painful at the time. I've enquired about root canal but the dentist suggested it was not necessary as the nerve was healthy. The tooth started to ache from day one. After being forced to see a couple of dentists on the road due to acute pain, I have been told the tooth was infected and the crown was also too thin and will break with time. Even with antibiotics the tooth was way too painful and I had to make the hard decision to have the tooth extracted. I have contacted Jacaranda, explaining the issue and offering to send the XRay of the crown in question and they rejected the offer. We gave them the opportunity to come to a resolution but disappointingly have been told they consider that as part of the risks involved with a crown. Sadly, after many years of being a loyal client, I will now be looking for a new dentist.
Hi Laurene, As has been conveyed during all of our conversations, our heart goes out to you during this time. It has been a true pleasure being able to look after you at the practice. A crown is a wonderful treatment option to help to offer protection for teeth with multiple, large fillings and those with cracks. Any medical procedure has positives and possible consequences attached, which we as the treating clinician and you as the patient weigh up, before making the decision to proceed. With this tooth in particular, it looked fine on the x-ray and tested positively prior to performing the crown procedure. We discussed the possible risks, however all parties were comfortable to proceed. There are occasions that the nerve decides to die inside a tooth, causing pain and discomfort. This can happen at any time, and is an unfortunate circumstance. Our team worked to find a local endodontist close to you who could help save this tooth which was lovely to hear. Adam and I are incredibly proud of the dentistry we perform at the practice and the way we go about our dealings at Jacaranda; we’re honest and fair. I can appreciate that as you’re on the road and interstate, you simply wanted to resolve the pain, and instead made the decision to have the tooth removed. We have attempted to come to a resolution, however respect there are times such as this where that is not possible. We truly wish you and Ian all the best on your travels. Kind regards, Sam

I suffer with anxiety from dentists. I will be definitely sticking with this dentist firm. I have been for 3 visits here now and have found the staff all very friendly and polite. Very professional at what they do.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't been to a dentist in a couple of years before visiting, plus it was my first time going to Jacaranda Dental, and my experience was amazing! I was assisted by Dr Cathleen and she was so understanding about my worries regarding my unattended dental health. She talked me through every process and answered all of my questions and concerns in full detail. The entire process was so smooth, and everyone was super helpful with quotes, plans for future appointments, questions etc. I would highly recommend these guys, everyone was so friendly and kind.

Fantastic experience: Very happy to finally find a Dentist that's not only welcoming, but also reassured me as I've had bad experiences with Dentists in the past that has led to extreme anxiety. They are reasonably priced and dont take ypur money for services they havent provided like i have experienced from other dentists. I travel from the Sunshine Coast to this practice as I am that impressed with their services.

Fantastic experience: Very impressed by the design of this dental clinic. The details of having kids room, self-service coffee/tea/milk really reflect the patient-oriented mindset of the owner; and it highly resonates with its name ‘Family Dental’. I felt very welcomed and comfortable to do my dental check/procedures here! Dr David is very gentle and kind, erasing the last bit of fear in my mind to see a dentist. He is also highly professional. I really like his ‘conservative’ practice philosophy. I feel so happy being told that some fillings are optional and might not needed in the long future if I practice good dental hygiene. Dislike the feeling of my teeth being drilled . Will come back!

Fantastic experience: While on holidays on the Sunshine Coast, I needed urgent treatment for an incredibly painful tooth. Jacaranda Dental were literally the only practice that would fit me in, and Dr Kathleen was fantastic - she diagnosed and sorted the issue so I could continue my holiday pain free. On returning home and going to my regular dentist, he remarked that whoever worked on my tooth effectively saved it from removal. I’ll be getting a root canal in a few weeks but thanks to Dr. Kathleen I will still the tooth. Could not be happier.

Fantastic experience: Had it get a hectic filling done, like it was huge and honestly I thought it was going to be a root canal because the decay was so far up into the tooth near the nerve. Luckily enough this was not the case and I just needed a filling. It was a big piece of work and David did an amazing job. He was honest, gentle, caring and efficient. I almost fell asleep on 3 separate occasions because I felt so safe in his care. The dental assistant Hayley, must of been new as she required alot of prompting/reminding and direction. David was very kind and had alot of patience with her, which was nice to see. Overall great experience.

Fantastic experience: The first thing you notice when you walk into Jacaranda is that it's not like other dental clinics; it's comfortable, warm and inviting. They've done really well to get such a great team together. Everyone is friendly. Jovita & Tash explained everything in detail and I honestly couldn't have felt more at ease throughout the whole visit. For the first time in my life, I don't feel anxious about going to the dentist.

Positive experience: I had 2 teeth removed on Tuesday by Dr David. One was a wisdom tooth. 2 years ago I never would have imagined I'd be able to do that. The team at Jacaranda are lovely and very understanding. Over the past 2 years everyone I have seen has been so nice. I still get really nervous but Dr David and his assistant were very reassuring.

Fantastic experience: Dr Allen is a brilliant dentist, I had to have a crown done on a cracked tooth and have never had anything like that done before. I felt so comfortable and relaxed (and I am a very nervous person) they explained everything they were going to do before doing it so I knew what to expect. Fantastic experience: My youngest son, 7 had 2 front wobbly teeth that had been super wobbly for 3 weeks. His adult teeth were quite prominent behind the baby teeth. On Tuesday, I popped into Jacaranda unannounced to see if anyone could allay my concerns by having a quick squizz. Jess happily looked at the wobblies, which were hanging by mere threads. But all looked ok. She said for us to try and push them out, but to come back if no changes occurred in 2 weeks. Jess's power of suggestion worked. He managed to nudge his first tooth free the next day and today he managed to pull the 2nd free. Thanks Jess and the team at Jacaranda Family Dental.
