Negative experience: Went in today to see if getting aligners was going to work for me and was very happy with service! I was with ash, she was awesome. EDIT: I went to a dentist after this and found out this would not be suitable for me as I have a crossbite, moderate crowding and my front teeth are too far back. Smile direct doesn't look for any of this or tell you ANY of this, and my plan was approved. I'd recommend seeing an actual dentist prior to this to see if your suited.

Negative experience: Shocking Results! Don’t do it Go to your Dentist and get healthy permanent results! I’m currently spending thousands repairing my loose teeth that are moving back hours after removing the retainer ! Read the reviews on Reddit ! I wished I knew what I was in store for! :(
Negative experience: Not happy with the service. Didn't get sent the retainers for about 6 weeks after the last set was worn and the last set went manky so couldn't be worn the whole time when waiting. Then we were able to claim some money for a class action against Smile Direct but they wouldn't accept the statements from our private health company. When we signed up they said we could claim private health but one month in we couldn't. Sons teeth are back to what they were. No what they were
Negative experience: I visited the clinic for a scan and was informed I was eligible for treatment at the consultation. I had pre-authorised payment that day to await the treatment plan and start the process immediately. I was then left in the dark with no contact from the clinic or company for 3 weeks. I couldn't access a human to talk to on their overcrowded call lines. I proceeded to chat to an AI bot and eventually talk to a human consultant where I was constantly re-directed. They then informed me over the chat line I was ineligible and they're sorry with no further explanation and they finished the chat..... Terrible customer service and no genuine concern! Would not recommend!

Negative experience: Do not use this company! I never even received my first set of aligners after 9 weeks of waiting when they advised the will arrive in 4-5weeks. I kept calling to find out the status and they advised do sorry there is a misprint please give us more time. I called yesterday (Wednesday) to find out what was going on and the man on the phone stated they were shipped on Monday and said he will send through my tracking number asap - this did not not happen. So I got in touch again and the other guy had advised no it hadn't been shipped at all and they haven't been printed. They only gave me a refund as I mentioned I will take them to the Ombudsman!! STAY CLEAR NOT WORTH THE STRESS

Negative experience: Unable to speak with supervisors regarding discussing payments when aligners became too big during the course of the treatment. Tried to call at least six times, was told a supervisor would call back to discuss options but I never received a call. Meanwhile my daughters treatment has ceased to work. What a waste of money. Will now need to escalate issue outside of smile direct. Very unhappy customer I AM NOT SMILING.

Negative experience: Very, very bad customer service and product doesn't have the end result that they promise. Highly recommend anyone considering this company to not proceed. Overpriced.

Negative experience: DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY Was on my 2nd touch up, with 2 aligners to go, I called to give them the heads up that my teeth weren’t going to be in place by end of treatment. I face timed a dentist and she took screen shots of my aligners and sent me into Perth office to get a scan. That was over 2 1/2 months ago. I still haven’t received new aligners. I have a pair of very fragile aligners I wear a few hours each day. They have said many of times that they’ve sent me emails about it that they haven’t, asking me to send more photos after having 2 meetings already. Yesterday I Asked to speak to supervisor was told will get a call from 1 within 24 hours, I didn’t. Called them and was told same thing again. Most of the reviews on here are based off the first meeting were they scan your teeth which was a great experience for me. It’s once they have your money that things turn bad the after care is absolute rubbish. This company has already pulled out of a couple of country’s I expect things aren’t going well for them, Please be aware before giving them any money. Im about to go to consumer protection about this. No Jeff I don’t want a generic response to this bad review , If you want to talk call me.

Negative experience: Wearing these aligners almost over a year. Did not make any change. Have finished two rounds 8 months and 4 months respectively. Now they asking another $450 to start up the same thing which did not work out in last 13 months. Waste of money, thats what i all can say.

Negative experience: THIS IS THE BIGGEST SCAM I have needed repeated touch ups before treatment was complete. I was told it would take 6 months and am now a year in, with my teeth not straight and being told I need to pay $450 to continue my treatment as I did not request aligner touch-up or order retainers within 30 days after completing the treatment. I still had 5 weeks left of treatment so there was no way for me to do the above as treatment was not complete. I was ignored by email, put on hold for 3 hours and told the person on the phone cannot do anything to assist and the team that can assist is in America and to call back on ‘American time’ when I questioned what time specifically and for what time zone the person could not give me an answer. The staff have no idea what is going on, customers service is extremely time consuming and id not at all helpful, and the company tries to scam you out of money even when you can prove your treatment was not yet complete so you could not request aligner touch-up or order retainers within 30 days after completing the treatment. I would not recommend this company waste of time and money and is a huge scam always trying to get more out of you.

Negative experience: Product is okay for the price point but the worst customer service you will ever deal with. I tried to call them with no response and then when I reply to an email they sent me I never received a response- clearly not enough support staff to aid in customer service

Negative experience: I've been overcharged for 8 of my bills and they are refusing to refund me, it's been 3 months of chasing them up and I just keep getting told to call a number and they then tell me it needs to be escalated and they will email. Then the cycle repeats.

Negative experience: Very very disappointed. went today with my partner for the free 3d Scan. Firstly we took 2 different appointments but ended up in the same room. As I already did a 3d scan about a year and half ago the woman was all about making payment, Although I explained that I contact smile direct and they told me that I needed to redo a 3d scan, she told me you need to pay first. ok. So what about my partner he has never done it and want to know how long it will take to fix his teeth etc... to what she reply you can download an app and do it at home.... So at the end my partner took off earlier from his job got to drive from up north to the city at 4.30 peak hour with our 3 months old baby, to ear that we need to download an app and do it from home? Why when my partner got them on phone the day before they didn't tell us that? We also have been ask where we were from probably because of our accent, and we just felt that she though we could not afford the payment, and where just there to have a free 3d scan. Guess as we do have the money we will just give it to the competition.

Negative experience: Actually, it wasn't a great experience in the end. I'm gonna resume it in 3 points. 1 - Before I left the 3D clinic the attendant made me scan a QR code and review them immediately. I mean. At that point, everything was going well, and I was constrained in making a good review. So, probably that is the reason why most of the google reviews are good. 2 - I went to the clinic to make my 3D scan, but after that, no one called me to introduce the next step. And then, after 14 days of waiting, I buzzed them and asked about my treatment plan, and to be honest I found them completely lost. 3 - When they finally found my treatment suggestions, nobody was able to respond to why there wasn't a suggestion to align my underneath teeth. So, the attendant said- A doctor will call you to explain everything. Guess what? I'm still waiting for this call...RSS So, to conclude. I just gave up on my alignment teeth dream because I felt they aren't serious enough to trust my teeth to them. I hope this review can help everyone else make a conscious decision. Ps. 2 stars because the attendant was gentle and the Website was friendly to navigate.

Negative experience: The lady at the reception was rude and didn’t even apologise to keep me waiting over 20 minutes of my 30 minutes lunch break. During the 3D scan she engaged in a conversation that made me uncomfortable asking me how we are able to live with wild animals in Africa. She must have been a racist. She also made me feel forced to quickly give 5 star review. It was the worst customer service I’ve received especially after the money I spent. My friends wanted to make appointment but after the experience they went somewhere else.

Fantastic experience: My smile guide was Ashleigh she was very helpful with any questions I had she showed me how it all works and had a great attitude I was disapproved by another company called byte with no real reason on why but with the 3d scan and talking to Ashleigh I was approved the very next day and there would be a 4 to 5 week wait for the aligners and I can't wait to get started

Negative experience: Look forward to my new smile. Ash has been very helpful. Update (October 2022): They advertise night time aligners and I specifically requested them at my in person appointment. I was told to pay upfront and no one informed me I was "not eligible" for night time aligners until they arrived and I noticed that the first packet said "wear for 22 hours a day". This business is a scam and a waste of time! I have asked for a refund and am expected to get a message in 7-10 business days. Will see if that actually happens.

Negative experience: I would like to share my opinion. The product itself is good if you are lucky and get the right fit. I got the sets for top and bottom part. But the only one that could fit was the top one, which was a great job in the end of the process. But the bottom part I couldn’t fit in any of the braces sent to me. I’m insistently calling them to ask for my refund for the bottom part but they keep me waiting for hours. Also is good you to know that you are going to have to order retainers every 4 months - $175 for the rest of your life. SO BE IN MIND THE PRODUCT WORK BUT IF SOMETHING GOES WRONG IN THE PROCESS THEY DO NOT TAKE CARE OF YOU. I would choose another company if you still have time.

Negative experience: What the ? This was such a weird experience, I went to the Perth city office, I was expecting to see a dentist, I don’t think I did? Because the girl was in jeans and did not introduce herself or her profession. The office did not look like a dentist area either just a pop up office or sorts. They asked if they could video record the appointment for training, which I said no thank you (hell no!) I was then taken into a tiny room and made to answer some off questions, like how I feel when I look at my teeth and what I’d like to change - ummm I’m here to straighten my teeth? I’m guessing this is used to illicit an emotional response and build rapport , but instead it felt, disingenuous, invasive and severely scripted. I was then introduced to a box (which included whitening stuff, why do they assume I want to whiten my teeth?) and I was continually encouraged to sign up on an iPad and pay the nearly 3 grand, I was so uncomfortable and just wanted to get out of there, I thought this would be a dentist check up on my teeth to see if I was a suitable candidate for the product not a pressured payment in tiny room) Then they did photos and a 3D capture of my mouth, and it would have been nice if they explained what they were going to do first, instead I had my mouth swabbed and probed and I had no idea what they heck she was doing until she was doing it. I was then asked how I feel looking at the 3D picture of my teeth?! Ummm it’s cool? (Again with the emotional rapport) They then whipped out the iPad again with the price and tried to get me to make a payment… this is BEFORE they could tell me if i’m a candidate for the straightening. I said I need to speak to my partner before paying a large sum, but they suggested I could do a down payment and then pay the rest later instead, needless to say I said no, but I can imagine a lot of other people might feel pressured to make the payment, especially young people) Thanks, but I think I’ll be going with Invisalign now through a reputable dentist.

Fantastic experience: I have finally completed my treatmant and all I can say is my experience has been more than positive. I have requested 2 extra touch ups on top of my normal treatment because I wasn't fully happy with how my teeth looked and Smile Direct Club has always agreed withouth making any problem. Now I am finally happy with how they look so I have ordered the retainers that were included in my package. It took a bit longer than expected but hey at least I got what I wanted and what I paid for. The staff at the Perth shop has alway been super nice during the 4/5 times I have been there. They have provided me with one of the best customer service I've had in a while. Keep it up guys! The phone customer service has been excellent too, I have waited on the line for more than 1 minute only once, all the other times I have managed to talk with someone within the first 10 seconds. They are not located in Australia and sometimes they might be a bit difficult to understand due to the different accents, but I am Italian and I am sure people struggle to understand me sometimes too so that's all good. Overall I would give them a 9/10. Keep in mind this treatment is for minor adjustments and won't replace the need for braces if you haven't had braces before. Cheers!

Negative experience: My retainers didn’t fit. Contact them to book a re-scan, and had to call them a number of time (4) before getting my request processed. Only got a clear response and book the appointment 6-months after chasing them. In the meantime I told them that it could cause a health issue since I had to wear my past aligner all that time. Didn’t appear that the healthy was a concern since their communication, follow up hasn’t been as prompt as at the beginning of the process. It is disappointing to say that after they sign you in and get your money, you become the least of their priority even with possible health issue involved. Here I am 8-months later still with the same aligners and finding myself with a shipping issue. Parcel has been delivered but apparently there’s something wrong with the address. I called them straight away to edit any mistakes on the address and ensure that it gets sent back to me on time before it gets returned to the sender (US) I live in Australia. This has been completed on the same day when I’ve received the notification from the post office. I was hoping that they’ve contacted my local post office to update my address and avoid to get the parcel returning to the US. I rang them again today and apparently they never take action of this type (contacting the post office to update customers’ details). In meantime, my aligners/retainers tracking status has been reset to “we are creating your aligner they will be ready in 4/5 weeks”. I’m now sceptical if I should trust that information or am I just dealing with an automated robot. IT DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY

Negative experience: I had an appointment today at smile direct hay Street in Perth. It was the most bogus appointment I have ever been to. As soon as I arrived, the lady at the reception was so rude and I felt she racially profiled me. I think she saw a black young female and made up her mind there's no way I could afford their services. As she was consulting with me, I told her I had never been there and was interested to understand what the services they offer and how the process works. She was not interested to explain anything she kept showing the tablet in my face yo sign up- to a payment of $3000 which I kept asking what it was for. She was rude and seemed uninterested to explain anything to me and kept interrupting me as I spoke and said I just need to pay $$. I was actually offered the voucher as a result of purchasing a lot of furniture online. The deal explained I would get a free 3D scan and free teeth whitening - then if I choose to, buy aligners for my teeth. The supposedly "dentist nurse" told me that was not true, she looked at me as if I had lost my mind and dismissed me. The worst experience in a health care setting as a nurse I know exactly how a potential client or patient should be treated.

Negative experience: firstly i now understand why they make you do the review after the initial consultation and not after the process because of how poor services and their communication is. at the consultation ashleigh was amazing and very helpful, unfortunately after that it went extremely down hill. i had my consultation on the 12th of January. from then i was told that it was going to be a 4-5 week wait which is between 28-35 days. instead i waited 85 days which is around 12 weeks! that is considerably different and much longer that what was promised. to make matters worse i had no idea that there was any delays in my aligners which is the first example of their poor communication. I had emailed numerous times throughout this period to which not a single email was replied too. at around the 4 weeks mark i decide id call them to see if they could give me tracking details as i naively assumed that they’d be arriving soon. when i called i was informed that they were still being manufactured and that there was delays…yet i was not made aware. weeks later i called again to be told that they are still being manufactured after 9 weeks and that id be given an update in a couple of days… i was never given an update and i had to contact them again to find out. after the 12 weeks of absolutely poor communication and being left in the dark i finally received my aligners. initially i was happy with how the results were going until reaching the end of the process where there wasn’t much change happening. I have now completed the aligners as of today and my teeth don’t look like how the smile predictor would be. to say that i am disappointed is an understatement as the one thing that i wanted fixed is the thing that hasn’t been fixed fully. yes i understand that they provide touch up aligners but who knows how long that would take so i don’t have much trust in that process. another example of their poor communication is with my retainers. i ordered my retainers at the recommended time to do so which i did which was around 18th May. these were told that they’d arrive in 5-6 weeks roughly. after waiting a long time i still had not received an email confirming my order so again i had to message them to which i found out that there was an ‘issue with the status’ - which i was not made aware of! my retainers were only processed on 28th June and then again i got an email saying they were processed on 13th July which was very confusing and annoying. this just shows that customer satisfaction is not their top priority as they don’t care for telling you information which you are paying for, absolutely ridiculous. overall i absolutely would not recommend smile direct club to anyone. it is cheaper than other aligners because you are paying for the poor service and you definitely are getting what you are paid for…a poor result. if you are even considering this business, make sure you read the reviews of actual results because all the 5 stars are from the consultation, not the results, so don’t be fooled. they reply to the bad reviews with saying to email them but there’s no point because they do not reply whatsoever so don’t bother. only way i got a reply was through instragam dm’s on their page. do not recommend, very frustrating business to deal with!!

More than $2000 and my teeth didn’t get any better. All the reviews were more about the clinic/office and the initial service instead of the actual results. Fantastic experience: Ashleigh and Anj are very professional and friendly, and provide an extremely comfortable environment for someone to go to who have crowded and unaligned teeth. I personally have wanted my teeth fixed for a long time, but this is the first time I’ve been able to enquire about fixing them without judgment or pushy behaviour about spending more money than necessary. Negative experience: The communication is HORRENDOUS with smile direct club. The one number you get online to call, never answers and doesn’t help. Takes you to the American call centre. The building in Perth has a seperate number to call so why isn’t that available when you google them?? It’s been four months with no help. Can’t email them cause they never reply and now I’m trying to cancel treatment and not even getting any direct help or answers, just trying to convince me to stay. I’m not happy and not getting any HELP. Do not recommend. Was all fine when I was signing up but as soon as I gave my money, I got nothing in return.

Negative experience: I feel like I was bullied into signing and putting my card details into the iPad without actually seeing any contract and being overloaded with information. Just to ‘fast track’ things - even though it was supposed to be a free consultation and waiting on the orthodontists opinion. The feedback online shows lots of problems people have with their teeth after smile promise hey can fix them. I feel I have been tricked and will be cancelling tomorrow before the orthodontist will even look at these images. Plus it must be very bad for the environment. Very rushed and hard sale. Very intimidating when you are in a vulnerable position. Not good I am very upset

Fantastic experience: Thanks Ashleigh and Smile Direct - after seeing my daughters results with using Smile Direct I decided to go ahead and visit the Perth location for a scan. Ashleigh was fantastic, so friendly and non judgemental - she really knows what she is talking about. My aligners are on the way and my wonky teeth will soon be gone!! YAY Highly recommend.
