Fantastic experience: I looked around for a long time to find not only a surgeon that was capable but someone I was comfortable with and made me feel relaxed. Dr Sam Park and his team are definitely the best at what they do and I’m absolutely thrilled with my new smile. From the surgery to the aftercare they are No1 and I would highly recommend anybody to definitely see Sam and his team for any of their dental requirements and I look forward to and on going relationship from now and into the future. Negative experience: My experience with this practice was truely horrible. Firstly I had a filling done that was left too high. I contacted them and they asked me to come in and have an adjustment. The adjustment took less than 10 minutes. When I got home they sent me an invoice for an additional $200. I argued that if they hadn’t left the filling high I wouldn’t have needed the adjustment, I told them I wasn’t paying it , they then cancelled the invoice I later had fillings done of my left and right molars just before going on a road trip. The whole time I was away I couldn’t chew on either side of my mouth. As soon as I got home to went back to EBDG and the dentist took another X-ray then proceeded to drill out my new filling and replace it. After that I still couldn’t chew so I made an appointment to see Sarah the practice manager. I told Sarah my problem I was having and her solution was eat soft food and use Sensodyne tooth paste. I expressed my scepticism to this solution then Sarah said they could refer me to an endodontist . I told Sarah I wanted to be seen by another dentist as I no longer had confidence in the previous dentist. At this point Sarah became very defensive ,stood up and terminated our meeting . So after spending over $1000 on these fillings I had to find a new dentist to assess their work. When my new dentist contacted EBDG to request my X-rays, OPG and notes they were very rude and said it would take up to 30 Days to send the records across. This was so vindictive and unprofessional. My new dentist found some work that was clearly sub standard and it’s going to cost me some money to fix it but I am just so happy I don’t have to deal with EBDG again. I feel that they are impersonal, uncaring and unwilling to take responsibility for their work. My new dentist is great, very friendly and caring. In my experience it is better to find a dentist who is friendly, caring and professional than to go to a large impersonal clinic like EBDG just because they are Medibank preferred .
Negative experience: Family loyalty over 9 years and spending thousands of dollars clearly means nothing to EBDG. Saw Dr Kang as he was the only one available as I had severe throbbing tooth pain. His manner was rude and patronising from the start… I should have walked out! He completed $350 worth of x rays which showed no cavities so he booked me in for a deep clean that I didn’t need. Prescribed me antibiotics and Endone for the pain and left NO notes on my file. I only found out as the secretary let it slip when I called back after a few days to see someone else for a second opinion. As much as I respect Dr Amyra and Victor for my kids I will not return to EBDG! When I tried to address my concerns regarding the dodgy advice/treatment from Dr kang, Sarah the practice manager was nothing but rude and condescending. To add insult to injury she sent me another patients transfer form as I asked for my dental records, this is a clear breach of patient confidentiality! They are incompetent to the extreme. Goodbye EBDG, you just lost 4 patients! You will not get another dollar from us. Despicable. Avoid like the plague.

Fantastic experience: My front tooth crown had broken off at the gum line and was badly infected. I am claustrophobic, hate needles in my mouth plus was really anxious about just how this tooth could be extracted without causing a heap of expected pain. Harry Marget my dentist did an excellent job reassuring and calming me down to the point where i felt no needle pain!!! then he spent some time getting a hold of the tooth and extracted it again pain free!!!! Many many thanks Harry and the EBDG....I am a hell of a lot happier now so that in coming weeks I can go down the dental implant road.

Fantastic experience: Cannot speak highly enough of the EBDG- the entire family goes here, and we have never thought about switching. You won't find a more honest and practical dentist in Yelena. She is thorough and builds a dental care plan-explaining where the priorities are and how they should be managed. As someone that has dental anxiety, she is empathetic and has always ensured major treatments were stress and pain free! Victor is one of the best kids-friendly dentists- caring, fun and ensures the tough procedures (extractions) are managed with care and (importantly) pain/ stress-free! They have since grown too old for Victor and see Cindy and Diana - both excellent in their own right. When they are happy to go to the dentist, that says it all. Staff on desk are fantastic and always there to help in an emergency! Adele and Bobby always greet you with a smile and get you in and out quickly. Consistency says it all and there has been little turnover in years. A massive thumbs up- have been going here for 8 years and would not consider going anywhere else!!

Fantastic experience: Dr Harry Marget gave me a thorough dental checkup.I had not had one for quite a while.My teeth were whiter and brighter than they have ever been . My gums needed extra attention and care which they received.I was instructed on how to maintain my oral hygiene in the best way possible. I am very satisfied with the care I received and will return for my next checkup and teeth clean in 6 months,Thank you Dr Harry.

It included some forthright advice, a well-planned process and comprehensive management plan for tooth extractions and plate replacements over a period of a few months. Fantastic experience: Our family all attend East Bentleigh Dental Group and are absolutely beyond satisfied with all the care and kindness given by everyone at this practice. Our Dental Surgeon, Sam Park, explains everything in detail and is the most caring dentist. Dr. Park's staff are always reassuring and make sure we are ok through out the appointment. The Reception Staff are always friendly and pleasant. We always feel at ease when attending EBDG, due to the wonderful attention given by everyone.
Negative experience: Incredibly disappointed with every experience in the last couple of years. They advertise consistently on the radio, yet have little availability. I had to wait 6 months for an appt, then received a call the day before letting me know the hygienist was now attending a conference. I was understanding of this until they then told me I had to wait another 6 months for an appointment! With the exception of a couple of staff on reception, they often come across as ambivalent or disinterested. I actually tried to submit a formal complaint, yet no one called me back. I am thrilled with my new dentist. They are accommodating, polite and don't over-advertise.
Fantastic experience: Highly recommend. Very friendly,compassionate and efficient staff and gentle dentists. Modern and high tech equipment. No need to be nervous in this practice. Just had a filling replaced and didn't feel a thing. Worth every cent. Big thumbs up. I just had another dental visit with the East Bentleigh Dental Group and this time with Dr. Harry Marget. I found the experience to be absolutely excellent quality of care the concern for detail and the follow up phone calls to be a very highly professional nature. I would very much recommend East Bentleigh Dental Group and also the services of Dr. Harry Marget. Negative experience: I’ve been coming here for years, got my braces done but after a quick 20 minute procedure to fix my broken retainer, EBDG have tried to overcharge me by $150 - $200 (even after I asked for a quote/estimate price twice over the phone and in person). The Clinical Manager Sarah said that the dentist put through the wrong item for the pricing and has NOT apologised to me for their mistake but instead has given me attitude! Absolutely horrible customer service as I have not been rude or ill tempered with anyone (I tried to be nice), just disappointed that you guys have tried to overcharge me and tried forcing me to pay $400 to fix a retainer instead of $240… Really disappointed with the Manager of EBDG Sarah and Dr Abdallah putting through the wrong item. Horrible customer service full of scam artists. If you simply apologised for your mistakes and took responsibility for your actions and have had some common courtesy and manners, I would not write this review and just dismiss the mistake you have made. Good Job Sarah! Extremely disappointed, do not come here if you’re looking for quality work, good prices or good customer service. ++ Also after scheduling a week in advance with my preferred dentist, they called me on the day to put me onto a different dentist anyway. So I had to wait a week for nothing.
Negative experience: Really disappointed with Dr Abdallah, charged $415 for a 10 minute clean by racking up ridiculous and unnecessary add ons. Absolutely feel like I’ve been scammed and our family will not be returning.
Fantastic experience: Dr Cindy is fantastic, she is highly professional in extracting my wisdom teeth and taking care of me. Bobby is also very friendly. Thanks heaps to the team @EBDG, I will definitely return for future dental needs. Strongly recommended!!!
Negative experience: Case after case of other dentists fixing their "work" I only had my teeth cleaned & I was left in agony that night. I was left not wanting to go back to a dentist ever. I have happily found a wonderful qualified dentist who is also fixing the "work" that was done on my mum & sister , some of which was unnecessary & all up was thousands... also unnecessary. Since going to a proper dentist, I can see how much things should cost. By the looks of these reviews, the gouging continues.
Fantastic experience: I have been attending East Bentleigh Dental Group for over 25 years & I can't speak too highly of their professionalism. For the last 25 years I have been attended by Dr. Saori Hayashi who I highly recommend. For someone who has always disliked going to a dentist, I feel comfortable with her & am never in pain or discomfort.
Negative experience: Been attending the clinic for years mostly for preventative care. I had to do some general dental work and I required some help in obtaining rebate from my health insurance. Let’s be clear I spent close to $2k on one - 1hr visit. The manner my request was handled, completely dismissed with no care to me as a client, was beyond acceptable. I run a health business myself and this is not what one expects. A business relies on clients and not just generating money with no patient care. Some front staff and the practice manager need some training re handling client matters with care.
Fantastic experience: Best dental group! Sweet receptionists and professional dentists! Highly recommend Dr Cindy Wu ! She’s the best! She helped me implant a tooth, and totally NO pain! Not even a little bit! She cured my dental phobia! She is my tooth fairy!
Fantastic experience: I had all 4 wisdom teeth out under full general anesthesia. The recovery was so quick and pain wasn't too bad. Anethatist was so friendly and gave me something to reduce the chance of vomiting after surgery and it helped so much. Wasn't cheap the surgery but it was so worth it. The nurses and reception staff were so helpful and really cared for me. Even looked after mum who waited in the reception area during my surgery. Thanks edbg.
Fantastic experience: I’ve just finished some dental work ( cosmetic) with Dr Sole Bellamy and dental nurse Lan. I am actually in heaven. The work looks AMAZING and they were fantastic in every sense. Thank you so much I feel really confident with my new smile
Negative experience: My family have been coming here for over 10 years because we didn’t know any better I guess. Now that we’ve seen other dentists, we realised all the botch jobs this place has done over the years. Starting with the very expensive orthodontic. Thankfully I only allowed one of my tooth to be pulled out instead of 4 that the orthodontist suggested. She couldn’t even close that gap she created so I ended up paying extra for Jelena to do bonding veneers and don’t even look straight and my front teeth looked unnaturally big and protruding . I’ve had root canal treatment done only to end up paying extra to have the tooth removed anyway. My bottom teeth are not aligned with my top . I truly regret having orthodontic treatment here, I’ve now had to get proper porcelain veneer elsewhere to cover up their botched work.
Fantastic experience: I had a great experience here. The dentist I saw was lovely with an excellent manner, as was the nurse. They made me feel at ease and their care helped the whole experience go smoothly. The reception team were also fantastic, contributing to make it a very welcoming environment. Fantastic experience: First time visiting East Bentleigh Dental Group for a wisdom tooth removal. I was overwhelmed with anxiety and the dentist and dental assistant were incredible! The kind hearted dental assistant held my hand through the injections of general anaesthetic. Thank you for making me feel heard and supported.
Fantastic experience: Where does one begin... I was a new patient (referred by my dear wife) where I was introduced to Harry Marget at EBDG (East Bentleigh Dental Group) for an afternoon first consultation today. This man is a man for all seasons and employs all techniques to give the patient control of the situation with a life's experience of learning how to put his clients at ease...he is a consumate professional. By the way he is also a really funny bloke and uses humour in a way that totally disarms any concerns or reticence you may have. Harry has a special skill that lets you know that any and all concerns are respected and treated with total dignity...and he has (I am sure) a library of jokes...the duck wanting peanuts was a good one and the gorilla in the cherry tree was a hoot. I think I heard about (Seriously) at least 10 to 15 little gems!! At the same time, he sends messages about oral hygiene and what is needed to take good care of your teeth ( I hear you Harry - More brushing and flossing). Get onto ABC I-View and you can see him on hard quiz where that natural wit plays out on his favourite topic.... TEETH!! I have had a difficult time with dental works in the past but I am really looking forward to getting on with fixing some cracked teeth. How many people say they are looking forward to see the dentist??? Hand on heart I am and am so glad that I met Harry Margetts today!!
Negative experience: I rarely leave reviews let alone bad ones but I am so upset with how I was treated yesterday after being a loyal customer for several years that I felt I needed to. I saw Jelena yesterday who ‘fixed’ a veneer I’d chipped recently. She did it in about 5 minutes and when I was asked to look in the mirror, I immediately said I wasn’t that happy with it. She protested that it was fine but fixed it a bit more before repeating that she didn’t want to touch it up anymore. This same veneer she ‘fixed’ I’ve just seen in the mirror has chipped again, where she’d touched it up (one day later). The other issue that made me even more upset yesterday was when I explained to her that on my previous visit some months ago she’d actually underquoted me on something that I was subsequently changed more than double the quote for. She argued this with me to the point of coming out after my app was over to the reception area where she continued to agitate over it, in front of waiting customers. I left quite upset. The friend who referred me to her has also stopped seeing her for the same reason - she is rude and defensive, to say the least. Suffice to say I won’t be going back again even to fix the veneer that’s chipped off since seeing her yesterday.
Fantastic experience: A big shout out to two amazing staff. It makes a big difference to know that every time you walk through the door you're going to get really looked after so well. Those 2 staff are Dr Reham Amyra and Margo on reception. I've been going here for 18 years, and if you want the best, we'll that's all that they offer. Negative experience: Went here from my early teens until now (local dentist), then moved elsewhere and needed some past history info to pass on to my new dentist. They were extremely unhelpful. Not only that, but they had also barely recorded any history of treatments. My current dentist was amazed at how they responded to his questions. On face value, they seem nice and friendly and slick, but a true lack of professionalism lies underneath. Disappointed to say the least.
Fantastic experience: The team at EBDG are always very welcoming and professional. Doctor Harry is fantastic and takes the stress out of the whole process with his exceptional dental care and his warm and friendly manner… and provides a good laugh. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!
Fantastic experience: Had my first visit to EBDG and was seen by Dr Harry. I have had bad experiences elsewhere and Harry took the time to listen to me and my past concerns and fears. Harry was professional, friendly and entertaining and talked me through everything. It was a much more pleasant experience where I felt relaxed the whole time. Can definitely highly recommend Dr Harry. He is amazing and his assistant Fotini was also lovely. I had no hesitation in booking my six monthly follow up appointment.
Fantastic experience: My name is Peter Bramley. I have regular reviews at EBDG but on this occasion I needed to see a dentist fairly quickly due to some lip damage which was giving me some concern. My usual dentist was not in at this time but Dr Harry fitted me in almost immediately. He diagnosed my problem and very quickly allayed my concerns. I hadn't been seen by Dr Harry before but he put me at ease from the outset and during advising treatment for my issue we also had a good chat about other things, particularly our shared interest in tennis. He has great people skills.
Fantastic experience: Harry is so professional and so warm and welcoming. With the regular bad news ( broken teeth, cavities, cracked fillings…) he still managed to break the news gently and with massive doses of humour, puts you at ease. Even if you can’t laugh ( dangerous with all those sharp objects in your mouth) you know only someone who cares so much goes to such trouble tk out you at ease. Excellent treatments strategies and professional care.
Fantastic experience: This is the first time I met a dentist so friendly and humorous. Dr Harry Marget made feel like I have known him for years . He is not only friendly but also very gentle and caring. His assistant Dr Priywnka was also fantastic . I felt very comfortable with both of them and very happy with their service. Fantastic experience: Very happy with Dr Harry Marget and Priyanka. I am very scared of having any dental work done due to some very traumatic experiences with other dentist, so I was quite nervous about getting a filling done. Dr Harry promised me that the anaesthetic wouldn't hurt and it didn't. He focused on distracting me and making me laugh during the appointment. Fantastic experience: I’ve never had such a wonderful dental visit in my life. Not only did I not notice having had a local anaesthetic after my procedure has been done. I didn’t even know that it was finished. Negative experience: I used to come here for my incredible dentist Alistair. I found out that he was no longer working here through my family - I was not told this by the practice even though I had an upcoming appointment booked with him. When I called to cancel this appointment and express my disappointment at not being told, the receptionist was pretty rude and gaslit me claiming that I would have been called, as everyone was. She hung up on me lol.

Negative experience: I used to be a patient of Alistair and back in 2020/2021 I had a new mouthguard made as I grind my teeth at night. This mouthguard was originally given to me by Victor as a child. When I saw Alistair for a new splint he insisted I should just get Botox to prevent the grinding, and was convinced I didn’t grind my teeth at night. I had to strongly argue with him that I wanted a splint and felt that he begrudgingly gave me one. About 6 months after receiving the splint I had made significant damage to the plastic and scheduled to come back in and have him look at it, I believe this occurred on 30 July 2021. He assured me the item was fine. It is now early 2023 less than 18 months later and I have ground two significant holes through the split which has rendered it useless. I am incredibly frustrated as this was incredibly expensive. This experience was the exact reason I left the east bentleigh dental group after many years being a patient of Victor (who is fantastic).
Fantastic experience: This, this has been the best experience of my life finally found someplace that shows you how to save your teeth and gums in simple and easy manner. Great service from Dr Harry and even better service from Priyanka. I highly recommend this solution to gum disease.

After many many years neglecting my dental care, I could not of finally shown up to a more caring and compassionate dentist to get me on the right track. Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist sometimes can involve a bit of anxiety, or in my case a lot. However, if you go to see Dr Harry Marget he treats the person not just your teeth. Dr Harry has a skill that 97 % of dentists do not know about. He knows how to take away the stress. He's only there Tues and Weds. The procedure was great, and the best I've had. 100% recommendation.

Negative experience: The customer service this business has is a joke. I have been going to this practice for over 20 years, and have never been treated so poorly up until yesterday. I had an appointment yesterday which I had forgot about, a genuine mistake. The receptionist said I had to pay a $50 cancellation fee, which she said I could use as a credit to my next consultation. I explained to her I wasn’t happy about the fee, as it was an honest mistake. She then said I can speak to the office manager, saying she will call me back. The receptionist hanged up on me, after putting me on hold. Then I got a call back from the office manager. She was beyond rude and not professional. She said I had to pay, due to the appointment could have been taken up by someone else. I told her I’m not happy about the fee, can I speak to your manager. She said she was her own manager, she didn’t report to anyone. I said I wasn’t happy with the way I have been treated, she replied she was being direct. She also said what the first receptionist said, using the fee towards my next consultation was incorrect. She hanged up on me. Hanged up on twice, by two different receptionist’s. Clearly, the office staff don’t know about the policies in place. I will be going elsewhere due to the unprofessionalism and lack of care this clinic has.
Hi Matthew, It is not uncommon to incur a cancellation fee, especially considering missing a medical appointment. The basis of the fee is that the time has been reserved for your treatment. A no show, due to a "simple mistake" is not only disappointing for patients that are on our waiting lists due to the high demand following COVID restrictions; but it is also a considerable cost to the practice, as the dentists and support staff are relying on your attendance. I am sure you also value your professional time and expertise. Of course, unexpected things pop up, however the courtesy of letting us know when abrupt changes occur, could allow another patient to receive care. We are confident that none of our staff would choose to hang up mid conversation, but unfortunately there are times when the phone lines may cut out, and if we are having an amicable conversation, we do not to make a big deal out of it. Negative experience: In my opinion I am extremely disappointed in the care I received by EBDG. I presented to EBDG following a fall for a consult with their lead dentist in April 2022. I was diagnosed with an injury to my jaw and tooth following an x-ray by the lead dentist. I was asked by the lead dentist to take pain medication and allow the swelling to subside over two months. I had two further consults with the lead dentist who examined by teeth on each visit. The lead dentist wanted to complete splint therapy with monthly check-ups and attend to the fractured tooth in 9-12 months following the splint therapy. MY GP, not the lead dentist, referred me to an Oral Maxillofacial Surgeon for a second opinion. The Surgeon confirmed there was no damage to my jaw following the fall. The Surgeon confirmed the presence of a significant abscess, also known as a bacterial infection, from a dead tooth which required immediate removal and a course of antibiotics. When I request a refund of my deposit for the jaw splint therapy I was declined. In my opinion I was bullied and shown no empathy by the Clinical Manager. My personal clinical information was disclosed to a third party without my consent. I spent a week in hospital recovering from the infection which was diagnosed from a direct link to the tooth.
Fantastic experience: As a patient with severe dental phobia, it took a massive obstacle for me to go and be examined by dentist Dr Diana Wiseman. She is so caring and compassionate, thoroughly explained the procedure to me. Thank you for looking after me Diana, I truly appreciate it. I highly recommend her and East Bentleigh Dental Group.

Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom teeth taken out recently. Dr. Yan did an excellent job. I was quite about getting my wisdom teeth removed, but he was very skillful and alleviated all my worries. I also had a checkup call the very next day. I highly recommend this place!

Fantastic experience: Dr Allister is absolutely fantastic. Was so efficient at extracting my wisdom teeth and explained everything so well. Had it done under local anaesthetic and it was completely painless. Nurse Mini was also super lovely, along with the wonderful reception team. Overall a very positive and pleasant experience!

Fantastic experience: I’ve only every had a positive experience here and I really only have positive things to say. This place is incredible, I feel so looked after and listened to and I’ve never been so excited to go the dentist as I have when I’m coming here. I’ve had some less than satisfactory experiences in the past but I’ve never felt so assured that my teeth were in the best of care as I have here. I’ll admit that sometimes you may be waiting a little over time for your appointment but I can only attribute that to the insanely high quality of care that EBDG has with its patients, at least from my own experience, so I’m always happy to wait a little longer because I know I’m gonna receive great treatment. The staff are helpful and welcoming, always happy to try and accommodate for your schedule. Overall, I’m very happy with place and would honestly recommend it to anybody who is looking for an upgrade in their dentist or is just looking for high quality care.

Negative experience: I attended this practice for many years until my regular dentist left the practice and I was not overly happy with the replacement dentist so I left. I recently had a dislodged filling and called to ask if they could get me in quickly. Sarah the receptionist (also a Dental Nurse) offered me an appointment in 3 weeks even after I told her of my dental issue. Sarah did not ask if I wanted to be put on a wait list, which they have. She did not ask if I had pain. I found Sarah to be cold and indifferent to my problem. Later I spoke to the staff coordinator Robin, whose approach towards me was even more indifferent than Sarah’s and Robin behaved in what I felt was a very callous way toward me. It was only when I asked Robin if there was a wait listed that she asked if I wanted to be put on it. By this stage I felt I was being manipulated by Robin that I realised it was useless talking to her. After only a 2 year absence from attending the practice I felt this practice which had always been so welcoming had changed and seemingly not for the good. This was very disappointing.
Hi Margaret, As you may be aware, we are all effected by the ongoing health issues and our clinic is not spared. We have had two and a half years of disruptions and this resulted in a considerable backlog of patients needing care. Our staff are doing their best to accommodate everyone however, as I am sure you will understand, our staff are also human and may sometimes be unwell or caring for their family and unplanned absences make management of schedules very difficult. Please understand this is not an excuse, merely statement of facts. Posting reviews by naming individuals is not productive and perhaps a constructive conversation would go a long way to assisting our health care workers. I am very proud of my staff and know that they do their best in very trying circumstances. Our reception staff are all trained to triage patients depending on their needs, and to prioritise accordingly. As you explained your situation at the time, it was deemed not to be an emergency and you were offered a later appointment. We pride ourselves in providing emergency treatment to any of our patients when needed. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if we can be of any further assistance.
Negative experience: You were probably brought to EBDG by Dr Harry Marget’s friendly voice telling you that they provide dentistry but not as you know it. That’s true…but not how you might like it to be. Whilst they were running nearly 1/2 hour late on one of the first appointments of their day (8:30am) my kids were hustled through like sheep through a yard. Frenetic at best. But fast I guess… 2 children, 25 mins and $1699 later - gulp! We were told that our health insurance provider HCF and EBDG no longer had a happy relationship apparently (note after hearing the ads we confirmed with HCF that they did have a preferred agreement when we booked - but it changed and EBDG didn’t tell us until that day). HCF only covered $773 of the $1699 in accordance with their fee schedule, a gap of $926 whoa!!! EBDG did refund most of that gap when I protested, but not all as previously promised sadly. Question: apart from high profile lawyers, who makes $1700 in 20 mins? No wonder our health system is stuffed!
Hi Simon, Patient care is of high priority and we endeavour to do our best in these very trying times. Unsurprisingly dental industry has not been spared and lockdowns and restrictions over the last few years have resulted in a backlog of large volume of patients. We are doing our best to see every patient in need, and at times these appointments can take longer than expected. This can, on occasion, cause a dentist to run behind schedule and while it may be an inconvenience to someone in the waiting room it is very much appreciated by those receiving adequate care. HCF decided to discontinue with their preferred provider arrangement with a number of clinics “in order to keep members premium affordable”. There was no consultation what so ever with us or their members in relation to this matter. One would expect health insurance making such a decision would at least consult their members as it effects their benefits. Our numerous queries to HCF regarding a list of clinics participating in the program has yet to be answered “as this keeps changing” according to them. We will leave it to you to take this issue up with HCF directly. We are under no obligation to charge HCF recommended fees, or to reduce fees for any patient. However, as a good will gesture to you, we adjusted to preferred provider fees, in order to assist you with out of pocket costs. Expecting no gap for all treatment provided is frankly not possible. A constructive discussion would have been possible at the time, had you brought your membership card and claim was processed at the end of your appointments. We have had a lot of feedback from our patients in regard to communication with HCF on this matter, and one thing that has become very clear is their level of transparency and honesty has been lacking. We have lodged a strong protest as we believe members should be provided with facts. To become a dentist takes a lot of hard work and many years of studies. Why should a health care provider be devalued when compared to any other profession? We would all be better off if our health care providers were given highest level of respect, considering what they do for us. We always try to accommodate patients’ needs and if we have, in your view, failed on this occasion, we are sorry. Your right to choose a practitioner that meets your highest expectations is respected. Perhaps questions should be asked of your health fund and comparing the benefits provided between different health funds may very well be in order.
Fantastic experience: Dr Harry & Jacky are an absolutely amazing team! I went there for a second opinion & I’m so glad I did, otherwise I would have had teeth removed and all sorts of things that weren’t required! They got to the bottom of my problems straight away and are now treating me the correct way. Dr Harry explains things so well that anyone can understand. It pays to go to someone with a lifetime of experience. I honestly can’t thank them enough. He even followed up the next morning with a courtesy call to make sure I was ok. I have not been in a position to afford my own dental care for the last few years and had broken 2 teeth due to age. Wanting to finally do something for myself I booked an appointment. Had a session with a hygienist and then Alistair the Dentist. Extremely professional , efficient and great communication about what was necessary and how to proceed. Fantastic experience: This dental group is excellent, I visit Dr Allister for my 6 monthly check ups and I couldn't be happier with the service, professionalism and friendliness. I've taken my son in for his first check ups with Dr Allister as well, and my son actually enjoys going to the dentist. So needless to say he's great with kids too! Highly recommended!

Negative experience: I had a bad experience at the East Bentleigh Dental Clinic. I firstly visited for cleaning, but I met Dr. Park on 1/07/2021, and the doctor said I had to see a gum specialist. In addition to this, he said we have a gum specialist. So I asked him again. "Is he a gum specialist?"I asked him three times and I didn't get any treatment,but I paid $390 at the end (including basic X-rays). Meanwhile, the next appointment was with Dr Kang on 17/07/2021, unfortunately he was not a gum specialist. And again, I didn't get any treatment but I paid $390 again (including other X-rays).Eventually, I was sent out of the clinic to an Periodontist. What I want to say "I paid a total of $780 dollars" and I had the bitter taste and felt like I was ripped off. They were overly polite but Deceitful. I still don't know why he did that to me.
Negative experience: Deceitful Behaviour. I booked a visit to ask about braces for my 14 year old daughter. My daughters teeth were cleaned, she was sent for x-rays, a cream was applied. The dentist then quoted me $6000.00 for braces for 6 months. I was charged $355.00 at reception, was in there for maybe 15 mins inlcuding time for x-rays. I felt ripped off. Yesterday, I went to Dr Amanda Lawrence, she spent 15 minutes taking a full history and examination spoke in detail about the pros and cons of different braces and why she would chose one over the other. I was quoted $5000.00 for the braces. I was charged $70.00 at reception for the consultation and was referred to a bulk billing radiographer for x-rays should I choose to proceed with Braces. I despise health care providers that unecessarily expose children to x-ray radiation and perform unecessary procedures, pushing up the price of healthcare As patients, we do not know any better. What deceitful behaviour. Where are the ethics in healthcare. Who do I complain to about unecessary heatlhcare procedures?
Fantastic experience: Just wanted to say thanks! I recently had all 4 wisdom teeth out and I couldn't have asked for a better experience given the circumstances. I'd put this surgery off for years due to the horror stories around this procedure. Dr Allister was totally understanding, efficient and to be honest - I think he's quite possible a tooth magician? I was expecting way worse given my age. (Did he wave a wand and my teeth were gone with no swelling etc?) With Allister he was so quick, efficient and frankly brilliant the recovery and extraction was way less pain than I thought. He also did a follow up call and other work too. Anita also helped with planning the surgery during covid times. So lovely, accomodating and helpful. Payment was really clear. Thanks guys!!
Fantastic experience: Would love to say a big thank you to Dr Harry for being such an amazing dentist. Due to crazy work commitments, I hadn’t been to a dentist in a couple of years. Had built up anxiety about going, but Harry and his team are extremely professional and calming. Can highly recommend.
Negative experience: The experience that I had at the first consultation was great I went away feeling good about getting my treatment plan and finding out the cost and looking forward to a new smile. That is where the experience went from great to very dissatisfied very quickly It took me over 5 phone calls to beg for my treatment plan which finally was emailed to me with the wrong upper denture quoted. When I queried this the return email a week later it told me I was wrong and this is what I organised and discussed with the doctor ! Not true at all I had asked for implant supported denture to the upper part of my mouth this was discussed at length at the time of consultation. All along I have been in pain with my teeth it’s been over six weeks approximately. When I asked if the payment plan was available to me I was told no we don’t have payment plans here and it’s on your web site ?. Is this a selective payment plan for certain people ? All I wanted was to have the correct treatment plan and correct quote with the correct dentures. None of this has happened but calling me in to start treatment without this information so I know how much and when to pay . As this is not cheap procedure and it’s surgery I do not think that if you can’t get a plan right my god !what would I get on the day of the surgery? The least you can do is refund me my consultation fee $220 as I may as well of been talking to the wall as none of my treatments for the upper part of my mouth were addressed just what you guys think I should have. I m glad I have not signed up to anything further at this place. I will be going elsewhere to spend my money as obviously you guys think I cannot afford this surgery.

I feel like he genuinely cares about what was bothering me as a patient and took time to point out that I was having jaw issues and set me up with a plan to address it. Fantastic experience: I reluctantly made an appointment at East Bentleigh Dental Group as I had a sore tooth and couldn't get into my regular dentist. An appointment that I am now very happy I made. Like many people, I am not a fan of going to the dentist but found that Harry and his assistant Jackie were fantastic. They know how to put you at ease and I dare to say it, but the experience was quite enjoyable. Harry fixed my problem straight away and I have since returned for further treatment. If you want a great service, that is affordable, professional and friendly, you cant go past East Bentleigh Dental group.

Fantastic experience: A Good news story! I recently lost my car keys whilst walking from my car into work. Two weeks of searching online, at local police stations and putting up signs in the local area, and no luck. I had just about given up hope! On Thursday a colleague came to my office door holding up my keys and a poster which I had put up. I was so surprised! She also handed me a business card for the kind and caring member of the community who had seen my sign and recognised they were the set of keys someone had put into his letter box. As I looked down at the card, I saw a familiar name, Dr Harry Marget. The unbelievable twist to the story is that as a child Dr Harry was my family Dentist! Some 40 years on, and he continues to help and care for members of the community. Thank you Dr. Harry
Fantastic experience: The staff at EBDG are excellent. I am allergic to dentists and have been all my life. The wonderful Dentist that did the urgent work on my broken tooth is Dianne, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She gently coaxed me into the chair, from behind the filing cabinet where I was hiding, spoke to me softly and promised me a lollipop when she was done. The work she did was absolutely pain free, and she was able to calm me down to the state where I was no longer in abject fear! My new tooth work feels fantastic, and I have decided to let her peer into my mouth again, and of my own free will! This time, I will not need to be taken there strapped to a removalists’ trolley like Hannibal Lecter, and dragged there by 3 big Maori Bouncers. It was my first visit to EBDC and i only have one complaint. They didn’t give me my promised lollipop.
Fantastic experience: Dr Harry! Is hands down a legend. I had my first appointment with him this week and he was so kind, understanding and knowledgeable. He takes the time to get to know you, have a laugh and understand your way of life and then provides sound advise to give you the best result possible. Negative experience: Multiple errors resulting in not being charged the correct amount on previous appointment and then not being charged upon returning appointment, sent a blank invoice for the amount and then not booking the next appointment. It's a shame given the dentist and hygienist had a great manner and did a good job. Won't return based on the multiple errors and condescending phone manner of Sharon.
Negative experience: I used to think very highly of this place but not anymore, when I first came to this practice I knew I had severely damaged teeth and needed ALOT of work done. I had my front 6 teeth repaired with fillings and several teeth removed, however after a few weeks I had severely swollen gums. When I asked about this, I was told I had poor nutrition and asked to do food diaries and was given a list of supplements. I followed this strictly with no change and decided to get another opinion, however the next dentist refused to help me until the swelling went down. I got a third opinion and this dentist said that the bleeding was not stopped prior to the fillings being done, leading to an infection. He had to remove all previous work which is the only thing that got rid of the infection. As someone who lacks confidence and saved up thousands to get their teeth fixed, it's very disheartening to go through the entire process twice.
Positive experience: EBDG is amazing, the staff are so friendly and it made my experience so much easier! Dr. Alastair is very very good at his work, I had all of my teeth out and im only 25 so this was a massive thing for me but he made me feel so much more at ease and I want to thank the whole team for a great outcome!
Fantastic experience: Dr Harry is, hands down, the best dentist I have ever seen. He is gentle, kind, funny and extremely good at his job. I have the little known genetic disorder EDS, and Harry has not only heard of it but is interested in and good at treating/managing it. I feel safe and calm, and in very good hands. My mum, by pure coincidence, also chose this practice and raves about the female dentist she sees here. I could not recommend Dr Harry or this practice more.

Fantastic experience: We saw Dr Sole Bellamy for the first time today and were very impressed! She is excellent — thorough, knowledgeable, efficient, and has a calming manner. One of our kids saw Victor and he also did an amazing job - explained things clearly and made our son feel very at ease. Highly recommend the practice.
Fantastic experience: Excellent service from both reception staff and practice staff. The dentist explained all the options available so I could make an informed choice about treatment and know costs involved. No pain at all during the procedure and was made to feel comfortable throughout. Very happy with the service.
Negative experience: Not recommend very commercial clinic. Not professional at all. I went to see Dxxx after suffering a toothache pain during the pregnancy. She gave me x ray and recommended a root canal surgery. However the pain is not going away for 2-3weeks, it came back occasionally for the same teeth!!! Even the teeth has been open and clean for emergency (given anesthesia), it was not handled properly. I had to suffered the pain during the whole third trimester. Very frustrating experience, hard to book appointments and frontline service experience is not very good

Fantastic experience: After an experience with another dentist, who instilled a sense of doom, gloom, and a hopeless future for my teeth, Dr Harry Marget's optimism was most welcome. He discussed alternative, less invasive treatment options and suggested some changes to my daily brushing routine. Those changes alone were enough - in one month - to improve things so much that the prognosis completely shifted, and I walked out with the tooth I'd come to have extracted, still in my mouth! That's as minimally invasive as a visit to the dentist can get!
Fantastic experience: Dr Allister was a great bloke. He was fast and really thorough. He cleaned up one of my fillings as an additional thing which he didn't have to and I didn't pay for. Will definitely be going back for all future dental work. Kara was great too!

Fantastic experience: Dr Kang did an amazing Job! I have needle phobia with a very bad experience when I was young and very stressed when I hear that I need to fill my tooth with an injection. (actually I got this news two years ago from another dentist..just don't wanna fix it because of scared of needle)however, I really don't feel the injection at all although I closed my eyes during the whole procedure. I asked him when are you going to inject? he said, i already done! thats really unbelievable! (I feel like he did a needless injectionto numb my tooth).. just introduced him to you if you are scared of seeing a dentist.Don't afraid of fixing the small problem(before it turns worse) because of scared, a good and experienced dentist will not make you feel hurt at all.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Maria Sole Bellamy is such an amazing and lovely dental surgeon. Dr Bellamy looked after my son last week when I took him into EBDG. My son being 11 years old had never been to the dentist before and was very anxious about his visit. Dr Bellamy spoke to him so calmly and explained everything she was going to do to his teeth and made him feel so at ease about his scary and anxious feelings. Negative experience: It's very appreciated Under Stage 4, we can still see our dentist. However I have been offered very poor service from upstairs reception young lady. She messed up the patient's account, charging my son's fee under my daughter's account. This the basic job a reception can do, but she failed to do, with no sorry no apology at all. I've been offerred a couple of unpleasant service with her unfortunately, either charged me under wrong account, or failed to notify the dentist and left me waiting for the dentist for half an hour. After been visiting EBDG for more than five years, I have to end up with finding myself more trouble.
Fantastic experience: I had so many bad experiences with so many dentists over the last year and was about to call it quits and so glad I didn't as I was to try one last time. I spoke with the Lovley ladies at the counters both top and bottom and amazing then spoke with Dr Harry and Nurse Jacquie and were they anything but outstanding I had explained what I wanted were other doctors kept pointing my to other treatments which I did not want and saw Dr Harry went above and beyond to help me with what I wanted done. I have found my dentist for both me and my family and couldn't be happier. Trust me and go for the visit and just talk to them you will see exactly what I'm talking about.
Fantastic experience: Absolutely lovely people! I refused to go to the dentist for years off a massive phobia of dentists, but everyone was just such a pleasure to be around and talk to! I really hope this gentlemen doesn't mind being mentioned, but personally was with Dr Harry for my consolation, and he was very quick to click onto my phobia and made sure i was 110% comfortable and having a laugh with him and his nurse, and not pressuring me into anything, just layed down the options and went through them one by one so I could make a decision that I was most comfortable with. 6/5 I'd recommend these guys to anyone with or without any dental phobias! :)
