She is patient, funny, trust worthy, and most of all does an outstanding job! Negative experience: The only reason why I am giving 1 is because Google does not allow 0. Do not visit this place for any dental work. My initial visit was for antibiotics for an infected tooth. The dentist that attended provided me with a quote for tooth extraction $1083. She tried to scare me into saying ‘you have a cyst forming in your mouth’ if you don’t do bone grafting you could break your jaw due to the tooth infection . Well, once the infection cleared I went to a proper dentist that confirmed all of that was a lie, it was their way of trying to extract every penny, and all I paid was $73 to extract my tooth! And now they keep harassing me for payment when I have provided them with my health insurance and they can easily claim it back from them! Do yourself a favour, don’t visit this place! Unless you want to pay extravagant amounts to keep their share holders, managers and owners happy! The minute the receptionist says I will book you in with Dr Prema- RUN she is the one that tried to tell me I will have a fractured jaw! Joke of a place with their dentists and management!

Positive experience: Thank you. I completed my orthodontic treatment with Jeremy, which took over a year, and I’m absolutely thrilled with the results. Although my corrections were relatively minor, Jeremy took great care and paid close attention to every detail throughout the process. Even after providing me with retainers, he closely monitored the progress and noticed slight gaps reappearing. He promptly provided new trays to address the issue, going above and beyond to ensure I was completely satisfied with the outcome of my Invisalign treatment. From the moment I entered the room both Allister and his assistant made me feel comfortable. I couldn’t believe he got all extractions done in 15 minutes!! Since the procedure Allister has checked in with me twice to make sure I am feeling ok and keeping up with the aftercare. Fantastic experience: When I first came to Healthy Smiles, I was too scared to sit in the chair. I hadn’t been to the dentist in over 10yrs. Since then, I’ve had wisdoms removed, root canal, fillings and cleans and although fear never totally leaves, I can honestly say that I wouldn’t want to go anywhere else. A special thank you to: Dr Ved, Dr Patel, George and this lovely lady below who helped me get through a particularly difficult root canal.

I went in due to a bad wisdom tooth (historically poor teeth brushing caused it) I was in a lot of pain. He was able to quickly asses and remove the tooth. Negative experience: This clinic does not appear to value my time whatsoever. I wonder whether there are multiple false appointments on their website. I booked almost a month in advance, only to be called around 2 days prior to the appointment to reschedule. While waiting at reception, I overheard the receptionist phoning other clients to reschedule due to clinician availability as well. In addition, I was called multiple times during business hours for non-urgent matters that can easily be sorted out at the appointment.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been visiting this clinic for the past 3 months and I’ve been really happy with the service I’ve received. I’ve had a pullout & crown replacement with Dr Alastair. I’ll also have more crown replacements coming up! Dr. Alastair is very professional & knowledgeable in his job & you can trust him being his patient! I’ve also had a gum cleaning with Shantal. Fantastic experience: Today my 7 year old had 5 teeth removed under general anaesthetic- and it’s been the easiest and most seamless experience. From our initial consultation with Dr Prerna (who has a son the same age, so totally gets it!) to his procedure today with the rest of the team- Rueben, Paul and the rest of the great nurses, we were made to feel comfortable and notified the entire time. Fantastic experience: I honestly cannot speak highly enough of this practice and my ongoing overall experience every time I attend. I have never, ever attended a dentist like Healthy Smiles and I can honestly say that they take away every concern you could ever have of a dentist appointment. The staff are phenomenal, and my dentist(s) in particular, Prerna and Ash, are beyond absolutely lovely, experienced, kind, and thoughtful. I had a root canal just yesterday and it was a better experience than I could have ever imagined. Fantastic experience: Words can’t illustrate how appreciate I am of Dr Alistair and his team, and Dr Harry Sivakumar anaesthetist . The best dentist I have ever been to. As the most phobic person on the planet for needles, and surgery - I never thought I could manage getting my wisdom teeth out but Dr Alistair and his team were so reassuring and careful with the needle & IV. It was painless and the procedure was so smooth I had no pain even after it! Dr Alistair followed up personally after the surgery as he knew how worried I was & this personalised care meant so much to me. His dental hospital and clinic is so clean , open and a lovely ambience that doesn’t feel scary. I would recommend it to all Dr Alistair’s work is meticulous and he is extremely knowledgeable , he fixed my mothers complex tooth issues which another doctor in Bentleigh messed up too, I will always only go to Healthy Smiles and Dr Alistair. First time ever without the piercing sounds and I wanted to create a happy dance just for her, and her assistant Rashmi.

Negative experience: I had an extremely disappointing experience when I called to enquire about booking a clean. The receptionist who answered the phone was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful from the start. Instead of providing information or guiding me through the process, she spoke to me in a condescending tone and made me feel belittled just because I didn’t know the specific types of cleans I’d had in the past. Rather than trying to help or clarify anything, she seemed annoyed that I was even asking questions. It felt like I was being talked down to, as if I should already know the ins and outs of their services without ever having been properly informed. A receptionist should be approachable and willing to assist potential clients—not make them feel uncomfortable or embarrassed. Based on this interaction alone, I would think twice about using this service or recommending it to others. A little professionalism and courtesy go a long way, and unfortunately, this business showed neither.

Fantastic experience: I have my tooth crowned with Dr Debbie Setiawan today. My experience with her was excellent. I didn’t feel anxious and scared at all since Dr Debbie was really detail and confident, but as well calm and relaxed at the same time. I can trust her and I actually fell asleep so many times during the procedure since she was really gentle and did the procedure with so much care (Ps: I never fell asleep at dentist especially during procedures). Fantastic experience: Saw Chantelle for a clean a few weeks ago with Ethan assisting, such an efficient team and was so thorough during my appointment. Loved the extra touches as well with the TV on the ceiling, music and the numbing gel on my gums, really made me feel at ease. Chantelle also explained her process every step of the way and helped me understand the next steps for my treatment, which included seeing Dr. Debbie today with Patcha assisting. I have been following Dr Allister for a long time now and know that he is a well-sought after dentist, so I rebook my appointments and make sure I have plenty of time to settle down in the lovely reception area before my appointment time. Dr Allister has straightened my teeth using FASTBRACES. And I have kept them straight using retainers every night . I look forward to my next appt with you Dr Allister .

Negative experience: I had booked a 45-minute standard check-up but arrived 10 minutes late. The dentist, Allister Yan, told me that due to my lateness, there wasn't enough time left and he had to finish work soon. After our conversation, he asked me to sit and wait, but then he proceeded to see another patient. I understand that being late can shorten the appointment time, but I don't understand why another patient was seen during the time slot I had booked. Very disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to dental procedures and I’ve had to get some painful treatments done. Recently I had some teeth pulled and Allister and his dental assistant were amazing and so friendly and empathetic through the whole treatment. They even held my hand when I was scared of the needle and didn’t make me feel like I was over reacting or like a child which I really appreciated and made the treatment a lot more bearable.

Not only did she fix my teeth with precision and expertise, but she also went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable every step of the way. From taking the time to explain procedures in detail to being extra patient during my appointments, Dr Prerna truly embodies compassion and dedication in her work. I have never felt more at ease sitting in a dentist's chair than I did with her. I would wholeheartedly recommend her to any of my family and friends without hesitation. Negative experience: This clinic is not transparent about treatment plans and is very disorganised. My dad and I booked an appointment at this clinic as we are insured by BUPA. Although our checkups were free, it was not a great experience. The clinic is very disorganised, such as calling me multiple times despite already responding to the confirmation text message, and spelling my dad's name wrong even though I had filled in a pre-patient form prior. The facilities of the clinic are modern and clean, but the environment was not welcoming. We both were immediately recommended by Dr Prema to do 3 x-rays each without an examination or any reason to do so. My dad's treatment plan consisted of 6 multi-surface fillings and the dentist made it seem like they were urgent, with little explanation as to what had happened and why he would need them. However, we sought a second opinion from another dentist, who suggested that only 2 single-surface fillings would be required. She advised us that one of the fillings recommended would be on a tooth that contained a hook for his denture, and so filling it would not even be possible. We were very confused after leaving the clinic and did not feel that we received any transparent explanations. I would definitely not recommend this clinic if you do not have BUPA insurance as the full cost was extremely expensive.

Fantastic experience: Healthy smiles are amazing. Been coming back for years, despite moving out of area (will drive an hour for appointments, that’s how amazing they are!). Have really helped with my childhood developed dental anxiety. Highly recommend! Especially Dr Debbie

Negative experience: My partner needed a tooth pulled, 2 anchors for fake teeth put in, and his fillings replaced. The tooth pulled had a "communication" to his sinus (aka there was a hole from the where the tooth was pulled through to his sinus). Dr Ved put a bone graft in, it got infected, bone graft dislodged itself from a sneeze, partner ended up hospitalised with atrial fibrillation (heart problems) and needed multiple IV antibiotics. Constant back and forth between the hospital, cardiologists, healthy smiles, and a maxillo facial surgeon. We found out that he couldn't have another bone graft which meant we had to cancel one of the anchors/fake teeth. Getting a refund on work we had to cancel was difficult (we paid out of pocket, and told the refund had to come through bupa- we don't have health insurance and we paid immediately! Why did we have to jump through health insurance hoops to get a refund?!?). I've been advised by the hospital that THE WORK DONE SHOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN DONE AT A CLINIC AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN A HOSPITAL PROCEDURE. I've also been advised that a bone graft is not the correct procedure in this instance due to its high risk of infection. A rather large part of me wants to follow up a full refund, as the refund given was purely for what was cancelled. 8 months from when this happened and my partner is now on heart medication for the rest of his life.

Fantastic experience: Super nice staff, very helpful with all situations, including emergencies. Recommend Dr Allister and his assistants. They are professional, patient and made my whole dental experience smooth and comfortable

From the very beginning, to the end he took the time to explain the entire process to me, answering all my questions in detail. Throughout the treatment, I felt well cared for and I never had to wait long for appointments. Dr. Jeremy was always up to date on my progress. I’m really happy with the results. If you're considering Invisalign, I highly recommend Dr. Jeremy. He made the whole process smooth, and the outcome is splendid.
